Portishead has some very longstanding quality pub restaurants and this is one of the oldest. Just off the coast road yet close to the town it is surrounded by fields and faces the sea with spectacular views of the Bristol Channel. Spaciously set out on 3 floors making the most of its views it is popular with the locals and family friendly. Good pub food and great English specials(Faggits n peas; Steak n Kidney pies) priced right and designed to fill. I had the cider braised belly pork and black pudding crushed potatoes and my partner the faggots — part devoured by the time I remembered the photos. A sign of just how good it is.
