They keep closing the front door, either close it for good, or leave open, so I know where I am. Also, toilets could do with a clean, out of date and smelly. Their Exibition, was a £ 1.00,some years back, that was really dear, now its £2.40 ! for half and its made just the same as any other cider, meaning-cheap to make.

Nearly always packed full of people which can be nice atmosphere wise but not when you want to be able to sit, get to the bathroom or make your way to the bar! If you have never drunk a few halves of ‘exhibition’ then you need to!

Whether you want to come along and relax in the extremely friendly vibe at The Cori Tap and hear great music, or take part in a bit of dancing(it has been known in this small pub from time to time), it’ll all be there waiting for you. The Cori has received a few awards for best music pub and it’s hardly surprising when you have great musicians like James Morton, Gary Alesbrook, Ian Matthews, Phil King, Saffron Monkey, Damon Brown and Monkey Chuckle having played there. Jan and Mick the proprietors of The Cori, which is situated in a lovely part of Clifton, Bristol, will give you a ‘Corried Welcome’ when you arrive and this pub is renowned for it’s variety of ciders. I love coming here. So join in and be ‘Corried’ too!

Love this place as long as it’s not too packed. Has a proper local country pub feel which is really nice for the middle of Bristol. The Cider is yummy, as long as you get a type that suits you!

Well I’m not a hardcore cider drinker or anything, but I was led to believe that The Coronation Tap was not only world famous but also an unmissable part of Bristol’s nightlife — especially if you’re a student. And my firm belief has always been when in Rome … do as the Romans. Or as in this case when in Bristol … get as trashed as the Bristolians. Couldn’t quite face the much talked about Exhibition, but managed a pint of Thatcher’s Gold. Although to be honest I had to prop myself up against a land-post after, in fear of falling over. Couldn’t quite see what all the fuss was about, but was glad I added it to my checklist and will go back another time when there is live music. The brilliant Publican Newspaper(I used to work for them many moons ago) has rated it as one of the best live music venues two years on the trot … so it’s got to be doing something right.

When I first came to Bristol, my friends said we needed to go there for the cider. I’m not a big cider fan, but was willing to see the place. Lovely old building down a side street in Clifton, one has to make a point of going there since it’s a bit off the beaten track. We were instructed to purchase only ½ pints at a time due to the strength. And, we soon found out why! Drunken students who dared each other to drink more than the half pints were falling over and worse. It’s an interesting place, but one I’d want to visit when the students weren’t around

If you have been to the The Tap and experienced the exhibition cider then you will fully appreciate the term Have you been corried. The coronation tap is a rare place, a centuries old building serving some of the best cider around and providing some great live bands to boot.

I think most people have already said it. But you have to come here and have a pint(or half as it’s served) of Exhibition Cider. A nice smooth cider, that does not taste as alcoholic as it should do. Tucked away down a quiet Clifton side street, you may need help finding it, and if you have too many Exhibitions your sure going to need help finding your way home.

Wer nach Bristol kommt muss auch einen Exhibition Cider in der Cori Tap probieren. Lokales Getraenk aber nicht ohne(13%!). Danach sieht alles rosiger aus ;o)

The Corrie Tap has a bit of a reputation for selling Exhibition Cider — possibly one of the nicest ciders available, and one of the most sneakily alcoholic!(Tastes just like normal apple juice, until you fall over drunk!) Its quite a small venue, which is a shame, as it certainly can get busy enough(especially on Wednesday nights for students iirc!) Definitely somewhere I take people to who don’t normally like cider because Exhibition can convert most people!

Shhh don’t tell everyone, we cider-drinkers like some space to enjoy the unpredicable fungal growths at the bottom of a barrel of cider. How else was Brunel inspired to build the nearby Suspension Bridge? He might have been born in Hampshire but in his formative years he was studying in Caen, and we all know Normandy cider is(almost) as good as that from Somerset

This pub is always packed out with students but its worth a visit for the Exhibition Cider which is served in Half-Pints and lined up on the bar, its tasty but seriously strong cider!

The Corry Tap as it’s known to many, is a rowdy cider drink’in pub. So giving this a star rating is pretty pointless as if you are a student who likes cider this is a five star pub. If you are not a cider drinker this place would be like hell to you. The cider here is very good and deceptively strong. The best thing though is if you like Cider but don’t want to suffer the students or the horrible décor etc then if you bring an empty bottle with you they will fill it off the tap and you can take it home with you(or the nearest park bench depending on what type of cider drinker you are). Personally, I very rarely drink Cider, infact, this is the only place that I will choose it over beer or other beverages, which is as much praise as the corry tap deserves. Unfortunately for me i’m getting old(almost every day it seems) so the atmosphere here does nothing for me anymore. The only reason to come here is the cider, the good news is you don’t have to stay to drink it. I have given this place two stars however add a star to this for every one of the below which may relate to you Student. Cider Drinker. Raging Alcoholic. Tramp.

Wow– don’t go here if you’re not into a bit of rowdy(mainly students– I used to be one of them) behaviour from people out of their heads on exhibition cider. Exhibition cider is the Coronation Tap’s specialitiy– so lethal that they only serve it in halves and possible a bit dodgy as they don’t serve it in front of you– they just bring out trays with half pints on it. Exhibition is extremely easy to drink so beware because four of them can have you on the floor and make you go a bit loopy

You have to visit this place at least once — it is located in Clifton Village down one of the side streets. If it is during uni time it will be full of students — who will be blurry eyed and stumbling. It will be crowded, hot and probably smell a little like an orchard. The Corrie Tap is a bit of a legendary place — hence the rating(it probably only deserves 3 stars in real life — but you can never remember the bad bits when you stumble out) hang on — you cant often remember much of anything following a corrie experience. The place basically sells cider — well drink that is made from apples and could strip the stripes off a skunk. They only sell the strong stuff in kevlar lined half pint glasses.(joke about the kevlar but not the half pints!!). If a friend says lets go to the Corrie Tap before a club — be prepared, be scared and have fun. Get in…

The Coronation tap, mostly known as the Corrie tap, is best loved for its brilliant selection of ales and ciders, including their own particularly special«expedition» cider which they will only serve you in half pints because it is so alcoholic(and tastes like apple juice!). It is a popular student haunt, especially as a pre-club pub. If you don’t like feeling crammed in, then avoid this pub at its busiest times and get there before nine on the club nights. There is a great feeling here since it is a very old building(at least 200 years old), and is the only cider house in Clifton Village. Check out their website for more details —
