Fantastic location for the fairly newly refurbished pub. Works really well if you want something between a pub & a restaurant in a great setting! Bright and cheery décor with efficient and polite staff. Traditional food selection and quick service. Unfortunately our visit today was interrupted a few times by the playing of an overly loud headache inspiring«happy birthday» tune — straight from Disney! bloody awful! Saying that we will be back, but will ask if any birthdays are in before we order drinks and food

Traditional pub grub in a beautiful location ! Set on the river Avon the chequers has just under a year long renovation. Long gone are the dodgy 80’s décor and dart board !! They now have three areas inside and loads of outside seating. The food is great value and really tasty. Your not going to be blown away by gastronomy here but after a long walk along the river it’s everything that you need

If this is what’s gearing me up for being middle aged then I’m happy to participate! Best way to spend a lazy Sunday, strolling along the river Avon, watching the boats go by, greeted by a picturesque spot for weary legs, ready to sit down and be fed! True traditional pub grub with enough food to fill the belly of that hungry catapillar!!! Xxx

The Chequers Inn is in a lovelly location. But is competing against the old Lock & Weir. So does not see half as much business as them. Our visit last night on a summers evening was to try to get into the lock and Weir but there were 4 deep at the bar, so we went to the Chequers, and got a lovelly seat outside on the veranda overlooking the river and the people drinking. The bar was very quite, so we got served straight away. Food was basic — Burger and chips, pie and chips etc, but okay. Although the girl took our meal for a tour of the grounds, passing us twice, before realiseing it was our food(some sort of table numbering would help here?) Toilets — Dont remind me, and I only went into the Gents — I will leave the review to the ladies on here, who dare enter them. Overall, lovelly location, but a pity they cant see this and capatalise on this. One suggestions was the cider crush — that was at the lock and Weir, can you do this too please. As this was a favourt by all this summer.
