Don’t go here, its not worth it! Overpriced, dingy and dark with an average customer age of 55. Avoid if possible!

If you’re male, over the age of fifty and like your cider and ale(a lot), I suggest you take a trip to The Barley Mow. Attracting a very specific clientele, you will stand out like a sore thumb if you do not fit the above description. A rather dismal pub, with a heavy atmosphere and unappealing hard-backed benches, I would not recommend this venue if you are looking for a lively environment and general sociability. Try The Assembly on East Street for a less claustrophobic and more friendly vibe.

The Barley Mow is a Cider bar opposite the giant ASDA on East Street, South of the river in Bedminster. This almost windowless pub has a range of local ciders on offer, for not too much money. It’s not too bad in the evening, when what you’re after is a dimly lit place to spend the hours, but during the day, the lack of windows makes the pub really dingy and grey, as are most of the clientele. This place is Bedminster through and through, if you want somewhere a bit classier or kookier, try a spot of North Street drinking.
