Pizza Hut

Excellent lunch time menu.

Not knowing the area at all, we went here for dinner. I hadn’t used Pizza Hut for years and though they may have changed after my last unfortunate experience a fairly long time ago. How wrong I was.
Firstly, the good points the starters were fine but it would have been hard to mess them up. The servcice was friendly if a little slow.
Now the bad points I had chicken and mushroom pasta bake. the chicken content would have required the skills of a forensic scientist to detect, it was so unapparent. The mushroom slivers were visible if without the slightest mushroomy taste. The sauce was anonymous slightly slimy, generic savoury sauce with no character or detectable provenance whatsoever. The penne pasta was overcooked less aldente more allsoggy.
My wife had a caesar salad which Pizza Hut appeared to have replaced the standard parmigiano reggiano with slivers of a cheddar-​consitency cheese which had an acrid, sour taste that rendered it inedible.
Given the cost was on a par with the other commonly found but infinitely superior restaurants of this type (Ask, Bella Italia, Pizza Express), I just do not know how Pizza Hut can possess any integrity or customner awareness.
Needless to say, we will never be returning. As luck would have it, later that night we got slightly lost and discovered many more attractive eateries shoudl we find ourselves in Bristol and hungry in the future.

Bad food, poor service When I had a problem. I caught the eye of 3 members of staff all ignored us until we managed to flag one down. I told them I thought the chicken was microwaved as it was both druy and crunchy and squidgy. She told me they don’t have a microwave and walked away. Leaving me with an inedible meal. Not impressed!

This is quite a small Pizza hut and can get busy because of it’s central location. I have had good service in here although obviously when it’s busy it can be hard to get a waiter’s attention. Young people love pizza hut, especially the ice cream factory so this is a good one for kids. The food was good when I have been here so I can’t fault that but if you’re after something a bit different; even if they do call it pasta hut now it’s still the same old pizza hut!

This is a good pizza hut, between park street and broadmead. The staff are polite and it fluctuates between half-​full and quite-​full. The buffet is replaced quite frequently and usually good quality, for the price.
