This is a great tapas bar with very nice intimate décor. The space is fairly large and the tables are sufficiently spaced out so that you feel very comfortable in your own private space. We were a group of 5 and we sat at a large table that felt like we were in our own private dining table. The service here was attentive and fast, our server brought us water without waiting to be asked. They have a great selection of small tapas and we ordered a good selection in order to get a taste of everything. All of the food was delicious! I’m honestly getting hungry just thinking about how good everything was. The highlights for me where the wonderful cheese plate, assortment of meat and the simply amazing rabbit dish! ! This place has a good atmosphere, great wine, amazing good and wonderful service.

Great quality of good and service with a wine list to match. The atmosphere was nice, good lighting and not too loud. Really enjoyed having a tapas menu that was of such a high quality, the Iberico ham for example was one of the finest cuts I’d ever tasted. Highly recommended — not the best place in the world but definitely good for smart casual with friends to share food

Finally, a place in Bristol that does authentic and delicious tapas! What a treat! What hits you first when you first wander into the restaurant, it the sultry and luxurious décor of the place — dark wood, leather, brass finishes, candlelight, low listing and high ceilings. Very grown up. You almost could forget you are in the middle of Bristol. The front of the restaurant is suited for drinks and small plates — seating in comfy chairs or on stools around recycled wine barrels Beyond the bar there are restaurant tables of assorted shapes and sizes, for sit down feasts with groups. I didn’t venture up the stairs, but apparently there is a second floor too. The drinks are authentic, a nice selection of Spanish wines and beers — however, they are pretty expensive. You may as well stretch to the more expensive end of the drinks menu, as there isn’t much in it. Try the: –rosemary gin and tonic –sherry(accompanied with the almonds and jamon… heaven) (Tip — apparently sherry is the next ‘big thing’, so if you consider yourself a foodie, swot up on your sherry knowledge now) The food menu is authentic and relatively short, which is always encouraging. A wonderful selection of meat, fish and vegetable tapas, cold meats and cheeses — all very well cooked. In comparison, the food is not as expensive as the drinks, so you can order more generously. Try the: — freshly cut jamon(melt in the mouth deliciousness) — roasted almonds — Manchego — marinated anchovies(the lemon, parsley, chilli dressing really lifts the saltiness of the fish, and the fresh texture of the anchovies is soooo good) — chorizo in tomato with baked egg(need plenty of bread to mop up the juice of the chorizo oil and egg yolk) — squid with puy lentils The mussels admittedly weren’t the best, so I will be giving them a miss next time. Without a doubt will be going back to this place — the perfect place to go for a treat, or when hiding from the cold, wet, dark streets.

Leave the hustle and bustle of Corn Street behind, and step through the doors into the slightly gothic and opulent surroundings of Pata Negra for some Tapas delights. Super friendly, and most definitely up market, this is definitely one of the cities newest must do restaurants. Literally meaning, ‘Black Hoof’ the name, Pata Negra, refers to the finest Jamon Iberico, produced from free range Black Iberian pigs, fed on acorns(Bellota), and cured for 36 months. It would seem rude not to try this, so we did, and it melted in your mouth albeit with an usual flavour. We also tried a couple of the Chorizo style meats(which I have to say were absolutely delicious), Prawns in garlic and oil, Patatas Bravas, Beetroot, feta & mint salad, and some reduced peppers… the later definitely being one of the highlights of the meal all gooey and fabulous. According to the restaurant they also specialise in Sherry and this is the ideal accompaniment to the meal — I can personally recommend their medium version. The cost is fair for the quality of the food, but it is what I would call medium priced, and ideal for groups where you can share the costs and all sample the food. If you’ve not been yet, get your glad rags on and head over.

The latest offering from the team behind The Milk Thistle, The Ox and Hyde & Co, Pata Negra is just as special as it’s cousins! Incorporating a ground floor tapas and wine bar, first floor cocktail bar, complete with stage and dancefloor for live music and DJs and a top floor private hire space the venue occupies what used to be Copper Jacks on Corn Street, and like all of the teams other venues the attention to detail is second to none! The décor is perfect, with a Spanish/Latino vibe with a vintage twist running throughout, the cocktails are exceptional(try the Pisco Sour!) and the tapas are the best I’ve had in Bristol! What’s more with a license till 4am on weekends and a range of live bands and DJs playing, Pata Negra is on course to become one of the city’s most exciting after hours destinations-an absolute must try!
