The Doc Marten emporium has landed. If you are looking for Doc’s that are more difficult to find, you got to check out their selection here. They have a massive range, which is surprising considering the size of the shop. And when I was there a few days ago, they were(and are) having a big sale, with some Doc’s costing £27.99. and for brand new Doc’s, that’s pretty darn cheap. There were a few that I fell in love with(that weren’t on sale, unfortunately) and I would buy immediately if I had the money to do so! I am one of those that love Doc’s and already have a collection of quite a few. They have many different styles of boots and sandals in shop for men and women, and also have Birkenstocks here. A really good selection, and the one and only Doc shop in Bristol, which makes it very, very cool indeed.

If you like Doc Marten’s footwear, visit this shop. If you think you don’t like Doc Marten’s, check it out anyway(just in case!): I honesty had no idea this brand made such a wide range of footwear until I caught sight of this place. They squeeze between their four tiny walls the most amazing selection of Doc Marten shoes, boots and sandals I’ve ever seen. Whether you’re after a classic pair of black or cherry red Doc Marten boots, or an attention-seeking pink or floral pair, they will stock it here. For the summer, they have chunky sandals and Birkenstock-like designs in all sorts of colours — plus even some slingback wedges for the girls! The rather chunky designs tend to emphasise the functional over the aesthetic a little too much for my liking, but I still think this is an amazing little shop, and a complete dream for any true Doc Marten fans out there. Expect to pay for high quality as you would anywhere selling genuine Dr Marten’s — but rest assured they should last you years!

Ahhhhhhh Doc Martin heaven! Now that the little shoe shop run my Sean my shoe man in my hometown has closed down, I have to find a new place to buy my boots. I’ve decided that my next pair of boots are going to be some doc’s. They have a great range of boots and also stock the adorable mary jane’s that I have been coveting for a while. They aren’t cheap but dr martin shoes last for years and years so its worth saving the pennies and spending it on quality shoes, supporting a local retailer at the same time.

I like the fact that this business is family run. It means you get a much more personal service when you visit and I find that they are so helpful(I was a little overwhelmed with shoes when I visited!). Apparently they have been around(in the same shop!!) for 100 years so they clearly know what they are talking about. Prices are a little high. Expect to pay over £100 for a pair of non-sale items. However they do have sales here and there where they knock off a good £40 on some products. Their website isn’t going to win any awards, but worth a look before you visit.

This is a small shoe shop on Cheltenham Road, near the arches, specialising in a few specific brands of footwear, most notably Dr Martens. It feels like a real shoe shop(like the kind I went to as a kid, where they would actually measure my feet and someone would have to bring the shoes out from the back in order for me to try them on). I don’t know why this surprised me so much, but I suppose that I’ve become used to the cheap chain stores where you’re left to your own devices and have to half guess if the particular pair of trainers you’ve picked up actually fit. It was a nice surprise, I have to say, although once I looked at the price of some of the footwear on offer and I certainly remembered the cost that comes with this kind of service. However, the expense is a measure(pun intended) of the quality in a place such as this, and you know what they say — you get what you pay for.

If you thought Doc Martens were past it, think again. Seen on catwalks once more(especially the tartan ones) the owners of indie shoe shop KBK must be rubbing their hands with glee this autumn! A really traditional little store selling, surprisingly cutting-edge footwear for women, men and kids(the wee boots are utterly gorgeous). Other funky-soled brands gracing their black metal shelves include Fly, Art, Birkenstock, Crocs and Bludstone — a veritable list of cool in the world of the shoe. The staff are super-friendly, and helped me pick out several sizes, going back and forth to the storeroom for me without a grudging look. Shoes/boots from here will set you back a bit — but they’ll last you all winter and probably for quite a few winters to come.

KBK’s shoe shop is brilliant, they have a great stock of Dr Martins in all different colours and styles, with very helpful staff. They also stock other makes of shoes and walking boots. I always buy my Docs here cos the service is sooo good.

An excellent independent shoe-shop, which from the outside looks predominantly Doc Martin’s-related– this is a place for proper chunky walking boots and heavy serious shoes. The prices are pretty much average, so the draw to this shop is the range that’s available, and also the quality of service, which is very friendly and welcoming. They’re happy to discuss your shoe needs, or in my case which Doc Martin colours are available nowadays and why the best colours are only available in girls’ sizes. If it were a little bit cheaper I’d head here far more often, but it’s still my favourite shoe shop.
