Having only recently opened as a student-run art gallery, Hello Everything has made a successful attempt to occupy an empty shop unit with creative endeavours. Although Cabot Circus may seem an unlikely location for an art space, the gallery has beckoned many a passer-by with its quirky installations. I stumbled across the venue by chance on a hectic Saturday afternoon as I traipsed despondently through crowds of shoppers. Spotting some intriguing exhibits in a bare shop window, I couldn’t resist popping in and investigating. Offering a refreshing alternative to shopping, this sort of initiative is just what Bristol’s city centre needs. Given the wealth of empty retail spaces in the city, and the abundance of creative talent dotted around the place, it seems crazy that there aren’t more galleries like this around.
