I recently decided to join the modern world and purchase a TV that wasn’t created before ITV and Channel 4 were introduced back in the 1980’s. Armed with £250 I came here to see what I could get, and just what existed. The service wasn’t the best, fulfulling my worst fears about pushy salesman trying to get you to leave with anything(so long as you paid for it). The quality of products was good though, they had a lot of specialist items, particularly musical ones, something I wasn’t previously aware of. I didn’t actually purchase a TV from here in the end, but that is not to say I wouldn’t shop here again.

Top quality home entertainment is what Seven Oaks does and boy does it do it well. Note the phrase«top quality.» You’ll be lucky to find anything under £200 in-store and even in the clearance section you’d still be hard pushed to find something so cheap. Thus they cater for those whose wallets haven’t felt the credit crunch. Including Sony, Kef and B&W to name but a few, their stock list reads like a wish list for every film buff and audio geek in the country. Also, there are few better places to seek advice, as the staff are more than willing to point you in the right direction with anything regarding home entertainment. High end stuff for deep deep pockets.

If you’re looking for a new stereo or TV, there’s only one place you should go and that’s Sevenoaks Sound & Vision. Run by staff that are fanatical about music, film and technology, it’s a sophisticated and elegant showroom that specialises in high quality stereos, amplifiers, CD players, turntables, seperates, flatscreen TVs, projectors, DVD players and Blu-Ray machines. Brands includ Marantz, Meridian, Spendor, Dali, Denon and Audiolab and the sound they offer is truly breath-taking. If there’s something you like the look of, the staff are happy to give In Store Demonstrations and there’s a whole Home Cinema area where you can check out new, high definition televisions and projectors. There’s lots I would buy from here if I had the bling but so far, the only thing I’ve invested in is two of the wonderous Pro-Ject turntables. In a homage to The White Stripes, I have one in red and one in white and use them regularly to play my vinyl collection.
