Gents’ cuts start at £20 and for this you’ll get no less attention than the higher-​paying customers. Well worth it: a worthy opponent to the over-​priced, overrated Toni & Guy.

The Floor is essentially a good value, middle-​of-​the-​road salon with aspirations for bigger things. The stylish décor makes you feel confident in the unquestionable expertise of the staff, who are all very accommodating and able. With a bloke’s cut and finish starting at £20 the cost is appropriate for the quality of what you get. If you want the best quality you can choose to have your cut done by one of their most senior art directors and this will only cost you £35. At Toni & Guy you’d spend at least that on a standard cut. They also offer various colour treatments and movements including permanent curling and straightening. As with all places the quality of your cut will depend to a certain extent on your ability to communicate what you want but with such attentive stylists you shouldn’t have much trouble in this department. It’s definitely a reliable place to sort out your follicular misshapenness.
