This is one of those clothing shops that’s gone all out with the Boxing Week sale. Shoppers seem to be on overload, scouring through the racks, leaving unwanted items draped over others … it’s a bit of a disaster. However, the large selection of dressy outfits, business suits, sweaters, t-shirts, jeans and swim suits and crazy sale prices almost make the chaos worth it. Tonnes of items, if not all of them, are at least 50% off regular price. Just a warning that the children’s section in the back and the men’s clothing on the first floor were nearly impossible to get through with the crowds — although, I wasn’t that motivated. I would recommend checking Next out if you’re both brave and patient.

I used to love Next as a kid(a union jack flag t shirt, accessorised with diamantes, was a particular favourite of mine), but now I rarely have cause to visit this high street favourite unless I’m shopping an older relative. The clothes look good quality, the prices are okay, and there’s the occasional good take on a fashion trend. Overall though, the focus is on smart wardrobe staples. I imagine I may head there if I end up working in an office — if you’re short on time, you’re guaranteed to find an okay skirt/blouse outfit here.

Like Warehouse and Bhs, Next seems to have lost it’s way over the years. Instead of selling something for everyone, Next feels like a department store where only middle aged, middle class people go to buy comfortable and reliable wardrobe staples. They haven’t started selling elasticated waist jeans yet but we’re definitely talking smart jeans, slacks, shirts, blouses, jumpers, jackets and accessories. Some look quite nice, others look like they were ordered through a catalogue. I wouldn’t shop here myself but having seen the kids clothing, I’d be tempted to pop in when I’m looking for presents for my friends and relatives’ nippers.

Apart from opening at 6am when the sales start and having to queue outside to get in, the shop is quite stress-free during normal times. the ladieswear and children are located on the first floor, whilst 2nd floor is mens and homeware. Next focus on stylish yet classic clothing for older generations, which can be worn by younger people to look more mature. they offer a range of quality clothing, from cotton t-shirts to cashmere jumpers. Their socks are the most comfortable here aswell

A medium-sized branch of the ubiquitous clothing store, set over two floors in the main shopping centre in Brighton. Downstairs has the women’s section, upstairs is menswear and a very small home furnishings section. I find it good for basic staples such as underwear and t-shirts, although these days I’m less keen on its other items. Still worth a look during sales, though. Staff seem friendly enough.
