This is the store i do most of my food shopping in.
However, very disappointed last week with the inept little help desk where customers had to queue to become SPARKS registered. Several data protection rules were broken in the process and the mainly middle aged and older customers had to stand for a considerable time. I was the only one who spoke out and demanded a chair which was brought.
Surely M&S could do a lot better, this store seems oblivious of customer needs sometimes.
Same with ventilation: mostly awkwardly warm, makes you want to leave.

Good old Marks and Sparks, as my Mother dear would say.
I have become a bit of a fan of going here for food shopping. They also do really nice sandwiches and a fairly decent Sushi selection.
The thing that mainly draws me to M&S though, is their little cans of pre mixed alocholic drinks… the Mojito one is superb for what it is! I always stock up on them to take to festivals.

Ah, good ‘ol M&S, the stalwart of the British high street. When all others crumble around them, Marks and Sparks still stands strong.
And why not? They have most things that you could possibly want. A good selection of clothes — yes, I’m not quite at the M&S stage of my life, but I feel myself hurtling towards it at an ever increasing rate! I’m not ashamed to admit that I do get my undies from here though, they have a good range and cover all the sizes.
They also have a good selection of children’s and baby clothes — always a good choice for a gift for friends that can’t stop copulating!
The food hall is amazing — probably not for the everyday shop, but for something a little special it makes a nice treat. Gifts, greetings cards, flowers… it really is a one stop shop.
I recently got my foreign currency from here too, commission free.
But what brings me here most often nowadays is the café upstairs. This may sound ridiculous knowing the vast number of coffee shops we have here in Brighton but it’s actually a nice spot if you are in the centre of town. Plenty of space to sit down, good tea and coffee, freshly cooked scones still hot from the over (the cheese scones are to die for), sandwiches, cakes and much more. Go on, I dare you, give it a try!

This place is a bit of a Tardis as it looks pretty small, but once your in, you may well never come out (especially if your with your mum).
I can’t comment too much on the clothes, other than to say it’s affordable and usually good quality, I also can’t say too much about the homeware section, other than to say it’s well stocked and again quality. What though talk about with some assurance is the food.
Basically as we all know M&S now is probably more about the food than the clothes, as their ridiculous, and obviously successful ad campaigns allude to. The only problem with M&S food is just how expensive it is in comparison to the Tesco’s or Sainsbury’s and therefore, unless you have a decent income, is not going to be the destination for a weekly shop. But let’s forget about reality, and just focus on the mouth watering array of ready meals that take around 20 minutes to produce, such as the salmon with minted new potatoes and vegetables, or Thai style chicken with noodles. There is also a low fat range called ‘Count on Us’ with Ham and Mushroom pizza (390 calories, or 6 Weightwatcher points) and the Vegetable Stew with Dumplings perfect for the winter and only 340 calories (6 WW points). If your in a rush, the sandwiches are real good, and rival some of Pret’s output with their finest Crayfish sandwiches at around £3.60. However there’s also a cheap range of basic sandwiches for £1.50, such as Smoked British ham and mustard, and free range egg and watercress.
I wish i was rich though and could afford the ready meals everyday.

125 years old this year and thanks to Stuart Rose, the first department store to lead the way and make a conscious effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible. As well as reducing their own waste and cutting down carrier bag useage, M&S have launched ranges using only organic and sustainable cotton and encouraged shoppers to recycle their old clothes at local charity shops.
From the outside, this M&S looks like a large, ground floor shop with offices above. It’s actually a sprawling three storey shop however, with a gigantic food hall and womens clothes on the bottom, more women and mens wear on the first floor and homeware, customer services and a café on the second floor. Personally, I shop here regularly for the Per Una clothes, cosy knitwear and mouth-​watering meals.

It’s a British institution and i still turn to it for underwear snd socks! This is branch comes with all the trimmings– it has the full food hall, men’s, women’s, and kids ranges. on the second floor there is also a café and a small homes section with kitchen stuff and linens. M&S endures as the one stop shop for basics and good quality higher end supermarket food-​their cookies are hard to beat. And it’s tried in recent years to combine basics with trendy clothes, which is where in my opinion, it fails a little-​this branch is well laid out and tidy and it still looks so cluttered, so full of stuff! It makes me tired even glancing at the clothes-​streamline the styles please, less is more!
