Loving Hut

This is one of the smallest Loving Huts I’ve ever seen, but they do well with the little so piece they have. The breakfast fry up and burger are welcome comfort food, but nothing out of this world. Everything is always super fresh from the grill though, which is ace, and the staff are friendly. The location on the edge of the park means it’s good for a takeaway on a nice day.
They sell Go Max bars, Vegusto cheese, some mock meat products, and other odds and bits too.

Coming from someone who is completely addicted to the Archway branch (Camden is alright too), this just didn’t sit right with me.
The service wasn’t great. The staff didn’t really talk to us or even reply when we went in and greeted them, and they got very funny when my boyfriend’s dad brought in the dog (on his lead, and being v well behaved), so we sat outside. They took about 30 mins to bring us 3 simple burgers.
My burger was overdone and completely different to the ones they use in London (it was really thin with breadcrumbs, whereas the others are way more meaty and juicy).
The summer rolls, which I’m so obsessed with, weren’t good here. They were very shoddily put together– loose, floppy, untidy and bland– there were some noodles and beansprouts and a bit of BBQ/​hoisin sauce inside– a bit different from the larger ones we’re usually served packed with veg and faux meat and with a pot of sauce and peanuts. These seemed like 60% wrap, 40% filling!
I totally understand that this brand of LH is smaller, in a little hut, and so the menu was bound to be smaller, but it’s such a big difference to the Camden and especially Archway branch that I probably wouldn’t return, especially with all the other vegan places Brighton has to offer.

Vegan full English breakfast. A dream come true. Tasty food for cheap, nice outdoor dining area for enjoying the sunshine.
Samosas were a bit greasy but good. Loving Hut Burger was hearty and yummy. Also, they sell Loving Hut brand chocolate!
