Often get takeaway here as it’s very close to our house and we always get the happy nights set meal with is only 7.95 and you get a starter of your choice, a traditional main of your choice, naan or rice and poppadum and salad really amazing value! We always get chicken tikka saag as our main and it’s always tasty with big bits of chicken and not too oily. Overall a very nice curry and a good price it’s a real shame the large restaurant area is always so empty :(

Edible but only just. After having tried this joint a few times due to the proximity to my house I can say this is the worst indian I have had in Brighton. The place is always empty, even on a weekend which obviously a reflection of the establishment. The food is sub par. The curries, of which I have tried a few, are lacking in taste but it does seem the milder you go the better the flavour. Onion bhajis were a joke, just tasted of oil. Keema Naan was a naan with a slice of thin kebab meat in it that almost made me puke, it was the same meat as a microwave donor kebab. Its a shame because pricing is good and you do get good deals on collection. Staff are well mannered and polite too but I wouldn’t waste my time here when there are so many others nearby.

Aroma Spice competes well against the wealth of takeaways that seem to operate out of every other building along Lewes Road. If you go to pick up the interior is quite swishy decorated which always bodes well for the quality of food. Aroma Spice despite the slightly odd name offer the best Korma I’ve had into he city, they are reasonably priced and sometime will do cheaper deals if you get a lot at once and go and collect.

It’s been some time since I’ve seen or taken part in a civilized meal in an Indian restaurant. The tranquil essence of Aroma Spice commands civilty. A beautiful ambience has been crafted by soft lighting and a keen eye for detail, something that transposes into the food. Our group of four sat down eager to order, not realizing it was ‘Happy Night’, were delighted to receive a free bottle of wine. I think this was because there were four of us but more people, more wine. The Vegetabable Dansak was delicious and came in no time at all. Aroma Spice is close to my home and close to my heart, a lovely retreat with calming effects.

It’s a bit sad coming here, because like many eating establishments on the Lewes and London Road that have taken the decision to actually become restaurants instead of sticking to just take-away’s, it is more often than not empty. The reason I assume is pretty simple. Brighton city centre attracts all the money, and these two streets are the unglamorous heartland of what Marx would call the proletariat, and what I would call students. Marx’s definition of the Proletariat was«those poor, destitute, people who couldn’t afford to eat out at establishments which charged more than a 1 ruble(a fiver in modern day U.K.)(see Das Kapital, pp.8456) So…basically because the Proletariat(students) can’t afford to eat out, this place is never really full, and those who live around here and do eat out would be much more likely to eat in town, because it’s just a bit more of an experience. The food is alright, and it’s not too expensive, and I def got free poppadoms, and might have(if my memory does not decieve) also got a free sag aloo. The spices weren’t too defined, but the taste was generally good, and the Madras was perfectly spicy in my opinion.

I completely agree with Samantha on this one. I have been here on a few occasions to get take-away and everytime we wait in they offer us snacks whilst we wait. This may seem trivial but it really highlights the good attitude that the owners have. I’m really surprised not to see it more full in the restaurant itslef as it has great offers when eating in. the only thing against this establishment is it’s location in the local area. If you want a good value curry and then this is worth checking out. I wouldn’t say that I am blown away by the quality of the food but am never disappointed. With a menu full of all the sorts of Indian food you could think of it does have option for the most difficult customer. I can’t recommend as I always get a few different curries with a few friends and share between us. Therefore, I forget which is the best.

Although Aroma Spice is situated in the sea of grotty takeaway establishments that run along Lewes Road, the restaurant/takeaway is actually really nice. They called themselves a ‘classic’ Indian restaurant and takeaway and I have to say they are just that. Although I’m always partial to a korma they have a vast selection from Biriany to Passanda dishes. They also have wide selection of vege treats like Motor Panir and Saag Aloo(yum). I have never eaten in, but the restaurant is very traditional with candle lite tables and chandeliers.
