Another visit to one of our favourite restaurants in Braintree. Friendliness and service has in no way ‘slipped’. Courteous and swift, even though the restaurant was buzzing on a Thursday night. We started with crab cakes and king prawns. Initially weren’t going to share but they both looked delicious. The waitress, attentive as ever, saw that we were sharing and brought over two extra side plates. My next course was calabrese, just check out the menu, it will make your mouth water. My partner had the light version of pasta with lobster. Finishing off with a dessert of affogato. Ice cream with a small jug of espresso coffee and a cup of your choice of coffee. A wonderful meal. Only one question though. As I have said my partner had the light version of the lobster pasta. She mentioned in passing, and in no way was it a complaint, to the waitress that there was very little lobster involved in this dish. The waitress went off to have a chat with the chef. His answer to this ‘query’ was that the heavier pasta has more lobster in it !!! Weird, as the light version is about £1 dearer. Ah well! It hasn’t changed our view on this restaurant and we will be back and let you know if anything has changed.

Part of a chain of restaurants which offer decent food at decent prices. This restaurant is housed in what appears to be an industrial hanger but it has been tastefully decorated inside. There is an outside seating area for warmer times. Very high ceilinged means it doesn’t feel opressive as it can get full very quickly. Its probably best to book for a Friday or Saturday night. There is ample car parking right in front of the resturant. The food is good and there are daily specials in addition to the usual Italian fare of pizas and pasta. A nice place to eat.
