Great, friendly, service. Modern and clean restaurant. Diavolo pizza to die for, followed by brownie sundae. Price, extremely reasonable. Will be back

Well what can I say? My ‘home’ Pizza Express and I have to admit I am a bit of a Pizza Express fan. Braintree Pizza Express, what’s it like? Well, very friendly and has a bit of an unhurried feel about it. The décor is getting a bit tired now, probably about time it was given the refresh treatment. But always a pleasure to dine there. In general I think eat out pizzas are overpriced for what they are, basically cheese and tomato on toast, but if you are going to buy one(or some) buy a Pizza Express one, they really are the genuine article. Forget stuffed crusts and all the other gimmicks these are real tasty Pizzas, you can even get the authentic thin Italian base for any of your favourite pizzas. My favourite? Diavolo, with the optional jalapeño peppers, on a romano base — superb.

Always worth a trip after some retail therapy at Freeport. Starters are excellent — concur with the bruschetta comment made earlier — and the food in general is fresh and appetising. Kids love the dough-balls which are included on their menu! Service is friendly and well above average. Best to arrive early as it does get very busy with hungry shoppers and families.

Had a great lunch here at the weekend. The bruschetta starter was really refreshing, the pizzas hot though usual fare but great service and a good atmosphere. All the ingredients for a good meal. We were too full up for a dessert so can’t comment there. Only downsides were that the toilets could be a bit better and it got very busy and noisy. Still well worth a visit but go early and be aware that lots of families go with their kids.

Food here is quite good, a decent menu with a good range of items to choose from(obviously range of pizz and pasta!). Conveniantly located on the edge of the freeport shopping centre and just over the road from Cineworld, so great for a meal either after shopping or after watching a film. There is a children’s menu available, which is good value and they run children’s parties too where the children get to make their own pizza though i have to say that this is hardly worth it as only available at limited times and for the price, you get little more than you would if you opted for a 3 course meal for the children!
