3 Singhs

Really looked forward to a nice meal but found this place severely lacking. Onion bhaji was worst ive ever had, not much onion and more like a flat pâté. Rice was nice with the main meal, as was the naan bread but the main meals were quite simply shocking. We were eating quite early so perhaps a chef was missing but the meal tasted like cheap powdery sauce added to the meat from a wholesale jar of preserved sauce, similar to what you would find eating a curry in a supermarket café. More disappointing was the ignorance of the waitresses, having mentioned why I couldn’t finish the meal, no apology or offer to make something different, not a word to make us feel better. Must be better places to eat than this in Bradford?

After hearing so many good things about The Three Singhs on Sticker Lane in Bradford and as soon as I got the chance to go with a group of friends I must admit I was excited to dine at this restaurant and pounced on the opportunity.
It would appear however that my excitement was not needed, The restaurant was not overly easy to find even when using satellite navigation and can only imagine that if travelling via public transport the journey would have being an absolute nightmare.
Upon arriving at the restaurant the outside did not really look too appealing as it is a converted public house and it appeared that the owners had not done too much to change the appearance of this.
We made our way inside and I am pleased to say that the décor inside was a lot better than the out. The whole restaurant followed a nice traditional indian style colour scheme with black glass tables, lovely ambient lighting and An aquarium The entire room looked beautiful and inviting.
When we first arrived we were shown to the waiting area/​bar where we only had to wait 10 minutes to be shown to a table. Once seated it did become apparent that the tables were slightly too close together however this was not really a major problem for myself but I can see how some other people could have an issue with this.
I ordered a main dish only, The meal I ordered was a chicken Rogan Josh with a naan bread, the surprising thing to me is that it was over an hour before I received my meal, I wish I could say it was the best food I had ever eaten and that it was worth the wait but alas, I cannot. The food was edible and fairly tasty for the first few spoonfuls but soon became very repetitive and boring. I tend to find that when I meal is brilliant, i feel the need to finish it to the very end, even when starting to feel full however this was not my experience with this meal and I left around a quarter of the dish as there was no explosion of flavour in my mouth and therefore no incentive to actually finish the dish taste wise.
The staff were not particularly friendly, they did not hover which was nice however any interaction with them was received with a very mechanical response. I believe the pricing was ok however putting everything into consideration I would not say it was worth what you pay for the experience and food especially when you find out that once inside the menu was more expensive than the menu they have on their website and when asked, the manager simply stated that they «have not updated the online menu». Malicious or mistake? Only the management of The Three Singhs know.
I do have to compliment The Three Singhs on choice of décor and atmosphere on the inside only and the food was not completely inedible but as an experienced diner in indian food I can quite clearly state that I have had a lot nicer dishes at competitive restaurants and did not have to wait over an hour to experience those better meals.
I would have loved to give this restaurant a better review however poor location, mechanical customer service, bland outside décor and only average food means I have to rate this at a 2 out of 5.

I love this restaurant, we go here all the time the food is always good, the staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is great!
I would highly recommend this restaurant and have taken all my friends and family!
