I’m a big fan of Mezzo as you can tell from the star rating, but really they do nothing wrong whatsoever. Brilliant spot to grab a coffee or some lunch and as it’s located in the market place you’re not spoilt for places to park. I usually get the Chicken & Mozzarella Pesto Panini with some chips(option of chunky or curly) — simple yet tasty and satisfying to the max. Prices are very reasonable(as you’d expect from being in Bolton) but the quality is still there. I added an Americano and a sparkling water on my last visit and it totaled at £11 — not too blinking bad. They also bake fresh cakes and snacks that you can purchase from the counter, I didn’t on this occasion but will definitely be trying them out next time!

Just popped out of the ‘office’ for lunch and found this place as the only non-coffee-chain non-greasy-spoon non-fast-food-takeaway sit-down for civilised people restaurant-come-café in Bolton(as far as I’m aware {yes I may well be a snob, you’ll just have to deal with that!}) Ordered food after being immediately seated and it arrived faster than expected which was pleasing. Good espresso, impossible to go wrong with sparkling water and a BBQ chicken salad. The salad was really delicious, succulent, tender chicken breast, lovely sauce, good salad with tomato, cucumber and varied lettuce/rocket. But… What is it with dining establishments and raw onions in salad? I can take red onion and sometimes white onion in a Greek salad in the Mediterranean sunshine because they are always so sweet and don’t repeat on you. In the UK however they always seem overpowering and tend to both scent and flavour the palate for the rest of the day! Maybe I should have noticed it on the menu and asked for no onion! Lovely meal otherwise and friendly, helpful staff.
