Great food, super service and suitable for couples and larger parties. The atmosphere is always right, not too noisy, not too quiet and there is always a buzz from the attentive but not intrusive staff. This is a second to none Chinese restaurant, it knocks Noble House into a cocked hat. Good value. Nuff said.

A fantstic treat. Quite pricy compared to other Chinese restaurants nearby. However, the standards reflect the prices. Gorgeous food and really friendly staff.

We eat here quite regularly(or at least we used to until we had kids) and hold the place in high regard. The food is excellent — the menu offers a wide variety of dishes and we’ve never been disappointed by the quality. We also found it to be very reasonably priced — certainly it’s a lot cheaper than some of the town centre Chinese restaurants, such as Noble House. The service has been a little on the quick side, but then whenever we’ve been it’s been pretty busy — we tend to book beforehand to avoid disappointment. All in all, though, a good place for a relaxed night out.

Abacus is a lovely Chinese restaraunt, situated within the Middlebrook development, near the cinema at Horwich, Bolton. There is ample ‘free’ parking adjacent to the Abacus Chinese restaraunt, you shouldn’t have a problem parking except for when Bolton Wanderers are playing at home maybe. Abacus Chinese resataraunt has a very warm welcome awaitsing you and the environment is spacious, clean and friendly. The interior has a modern oriental feel to it and is quite unusual, attractive. The menu offers good choice of traditional chinese dishes and is reasonably priced. The food is of a high standard and nicely presented, arriving on a heated tray normally and then presented to you at the table. Abacus will sometimes have an offer on during the week at lunchtimes for example three courses for a set price which is normally reasonable. Abacus can accomodate larger parties but booking is advisable. They do have a large round table with a twirling circular food table in the centre section for a shared set of dishes. good idea really. Abacus is Highly recommended by me and worth a visit, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

This is a really good place that serve Chinese food! All of the staff in here are actually Chinese and the chef uses his own recipes. The chicken egg fried rice in here is really really nice and I would recommend everyone who goes in here to try it. All of the food is made fresh when you make your order and the waiter writes your order with Chinese symbols! The atmosphere in here is great! When you are waiting for you order the staff give you little prawn crackers to munch on! I think this is a nice little extra and makes you want to come back again.

Went there last week. It was unplanned as we couldn’t get in to Nando’s so thought we’d try it. It was empty(this is on a thurday night at 8pm) appart from a few tables. We went as a group of 6 and all of us enjoyed our food, it was pretty traditional and was presented fairly nicely. I thought it was a touch on the pricey side for what it was but not massively so. I liked the fact that it was a bit quieter actually. The music was at an appropriate level so we could all enjoy a chat(when not chewing of course) and we had a nice evening. Not sure what it’s like on a friday or saturday, I would imagine you would have to book but it’s worth a try! Ideal for a pre/post-cinema meal.

Styling itself as a place of fusion, that is, offering a real variety of Oriental cuisine — from Indonesian Nasi Goreng to Japanese Stir Fry Udon, this is a place of quanitifiable selection — but no real substance. Service was a little rushed and the food was good, but not great.
