Like waiting an hour and a half for your food? Then this is the place for you! A wide range of ales advertised yet not available and a barman with a face like you’d just told him you’d shagged his daughter. Waitresses were nice though and seemed embarrassed about the delays but then it’s not their fault the place is so poorly run, they just take orders from the people who run the place. Plenty of parking available. Wet floor sign in the gents at just the right place to trip over and smash your head on the floor or maybe it’s to remind the Hobbits to mind out because you’d have to be very short to notice such a tiny sign. Add a gypsy wedding into the bargain and there’s your night out at the Robin Hood. Alright, but not great.

This place has a Travelodge attached so can become quite busy at times. However, the food is worth the wait. We chose the Half Roast chicken with veg and really had trouble finishing. It was delicous, I can’t emphasize how good it was! Hence we have been back several times. Very reasonable priced, as you would expect a Chef and Brewer to be. Don’t let a big chain name put you off a delightful experience.

Have now eaten several times at this friendly restaurant. The food is all home cooked and just like going home to your mums for sunday dinner. The prices are reasonable and well worth paying for the delicious meal we received. highly recommend.

Yet again we found ourselves looking for a place to eat on Sunday afternoon when most pubs and restaurants finish service at 2:00. The Robin Hood was built about 20 years ago but inside you could be stepping back in time with lots of old beams and exposed brickwork. We received a nice welcome on arrival and ordered 2 teryaki surf and turf, chichen piri piri another chichen dish and Sunday roast(beef). For a chain pub we were nicely surprised by the level of service and quality of the food. A couple of ‘piggies’ also ordered desert, the lime meringue pie scoring better than the apple pie. If we find ourselves in the area again, we would stop here. It’s only downfall is on a gorgeous summers day(I know we don’t get that many) if you are sitting outside, you find yourself shouting to hear yourself above the traffic.
