nice and easy to get to from the motorway. large interior but at busy times, can get a bit cramped(I kept getting my chair knocked into) standard nandos menu is if you’ve ever been before, you’ll know what to expect. service was a bit slow, but they were very busy. My biggest gripe was with the car park. when we visited there had been snow which, luckily, had mainly melted. it was however, below freezing point. we followed the signs to the exit and just as we left the car park and turned right onto the road, which takes you behind the other units, the wheels on my car started spinning. the reason? black ice! despite it being a popular leisure and retail park, the management company had decided not to lay grit. absolute madness, especially as the road is on a bit of an incline! it wasn’t just me either. friends in the back of the car said that the three cars that exited the car park after myself, all had the same problem. very dangerous and will definitely put me off visiting during cold weather

Visited here last Sunday afternoon. Got seated straight away, chose what we wanted and ordered at the till. Food arrived after about 20 minutes. Overall pretty good experience.

So, Jctn 27 has had a revamp and is moving with the times to bring new eateries to the masses. I’m well glad that Nandos has a new sparkly purpose built base to bring its delicious chicken products to Birstall. Over the years, I’ve found the choice of food outlets quite limiting here so it’s quite refreshing to get a Nandos. I think it might now be open nearly a year but I only managed to get there for my 1st visit 2 weeks ago. The restaurant echos the Nandos theme with the dark wood tables, booths and dodgy plants. The perky staff give you a warm greeting and if possible offer you anywhere you like to sit. i usually like to sit by the kitchen to watch them at work. The experience begins with conquering the huge menu– chicken in nearly every form possible, vege patties/burgers, salads and for the ultimate carnivore– a steak roll! The ordering has to be done at the counter to specify the product, the spicy level, the accompaniment and the drink. Many combinations are possible and you could visit many times before they’d be exhausted! The food is delivered to the table but you have to help yourself to cutlery, extra plates, unlimited drinks and the famous sauces. Don’t be fooled by the ‘wild herb’ sauce– it’s more lethal that the XXL hot. The concept is very good, it’s fast food which is also quite civilised but you just can’t help picking the chicken up and getting it all over the face(that’s my technique anyway!) The only complaint i have about this chain is they’re usually quite slow in cleaning the tables and I also on this visit saw a server pick up some cutlery off the floor and put it in the cutlery bucket where customers help themself. I know when you help yourself to sauce/cutlery/plates there will be some element of not being very clean but overall– its a good place to eat. Oh, and they offer a loyalty card to ultimately get a full chicken– for free!!!

A guy in my team at work comes here once a week, for real and for true. He is proper mad for Nandos. So when we went out for a pre-Christmas lunch we came here(otherwise he wouldn’t come). There were about 12 of us and in spite of it being a busy lunchtime, the service was pretty swift and the food was tasty and well presented(although our olives got forgotten about so we had to remind the waiter, but he was very apologetic). We even got a free mince pie :)
