The Jade Chinese Restaurant

In my experience one of the best Chinese takeaways in Birmingham. Excellent food, and if you do want to eat there you can bring your own drinks. Décor hasn’t been updated in about 20 years and rumour has it the function room is decorated for Christmas all year round

As a Chinese takeaway Jade doesn’t offer anything new, but it is a good safe bet if you are in need of some of that good old comfort food.
It has a fairly small waiting area and there is a sit down restaurant (fairly unusual for this kind of place) behind a mysterious curtain. There is no alcohol served but you can take your own and I have heard nothing but good reports from people who have eaten in. Overall it is clean and tidy and not the usual dank interior you expect from a takeaway.
The staff there are extremely cheerful and friendly and the service is fast. The food is cheap and compares fairly well to other takeaways. No surprises good or bad, I would probably opt to sit in and eat as there are so many Chinese delivery places that offer the same or better.

This is my favourite Chinese takeaway. The Jade has been a treat since I was a young lad, so now I even associate it with being treat and get very excited before going even today. Wooo, good times!
There’s also a restaurant at The Jade, however I cannot comment on that as I’ve never been and it is concealed behind some curtains. But I can comment on the food, of which I order a lot of; it’s all good from what I’ve had, it’s cheap, and it’s with you in around a 20 minutes. What more could you want from a Chinese, eh? They even have a selection of old auto-​trader magazines to flick through while you’re waiting. ‘Does it get any better?’ I hear you cry. Why yes it does, sometimes they’ll even throw in a bottle of coke or a carton of orange juice for free with your order — unbelievable I know.
