I came here when I wanted to have a go at making some unique jewellery for myself and to my surprise this little shop is absolutely brimming with beads in all shapes and sizes. As well as beads, they have other cute little gifts, including Chinese cats with waving paws and also a selection of key rings and models. The staff were really helpful when I went in and were able to help me decide on the sizing of necklaces and bracelets. I was very impressed with the amount of stock they had available and it motivated me to have a go at making some jewellery for some of my friends. I noticed that they also stock jewellery — so if you do not want to have a go at making your own, you could just purchase some. I thought the jewellery looked nice, although it was not as unique as making it! I had no idea this place existed and was quite surprised to stumble across it in Kings Heath. I like to go in just for a browse sometimes and even if I do not purchase anything, the staff are always lovely.

I was directed to Mo + Mo by the ladies at Top Banana Two across the street whilst looking for a gift for a friend and once inside the store I found it to be quite charming with endless shelves of jewellery beads I almost felt like I was diving for pearls myself, opening up draws to find shiny jewels tucked away inside. The lady behind the counter was frinedly and helped me pick something out, I ended up buying a matching necklace and bracelet and got the feeling that it was something unique and paid by card. Mo + Mo offers some sweet pieces of jewellery at a very reasonable price and also offers the opportunity to build your own piece from the many beads on offer.

Mo + Mo is a brilliant place to go to if you are after an unusual gift for someone. The shop stocks a large variety of fashion jewellery and allows customers to build their own necklaces out of different beads and stones, which is great for creative people. I often go into Mo + Mo to gander at the clutter of peculiar oddities, such as sponge cake key rings, cute toys and one-off Japanese models, in search for a present for someone’s birthday. I bought a green owl clock from here once, its eyes and tail move from side to side. The owl became a great little mascot at my college and used to hang on the common room wall! The price on most items is exceptionally good value for money, and I would probably say that you’d struggle to find the products sold here cheaper anywhere else. I’ve bought several bracelets at £1 each and at many other shops, you’d be lucky to buy similar for £3 each! The staff are also very friendly and helpful, and I always love to hear their electronic till, which makes a fake ‘Cha-Ching!’ sound every time it is opened. It always makes me chuckle!
