Just popped in today for a quick lunch, as I’m really on a strict diet, I just had the chicken Ramen I was really happy with the chicken as it was grilled and was so juicy! The only down fall was the place was 75 million degrees and we were all profusely sweating when we left. My friend had a low cal wrap and said it was delish and full of flavour.

I’ve ordered takeout for collection here before. Good service, good menu choices and not bad prices either, has a wide variety of noodles, along with some sides and kids options. The portions are decent a lot more than enough for one person, also I like the fact that you can see your food being made in an open kitchen.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat late on a Friday night. I ordered the general ‘choose your own adventure’ stirfry with noodles, plum sauce, and chicken. The menu is not particularly clear that vegetables are included in the stir fry, nor are they clear about what vegetables are included. This is not a huge problem, but I don’t really like peppers which ended up in the stir fry. They were cut big enough that I could avoid them, but if I had known I could have asked for it to not be in the food. We ordered the food to eat in and it was given to us right out of the frying pan. Unfortunately, this meant that the food was so hot that I wasn’t able to eat it for almost 10 – 15 minutes. When I finally managed to start eating, I found that there were so many bean sprouts(which I didn’t know would be in the food in the first place) that I could barely taste the noodles because the flavor and texture were completely overpowered. Additionally, the sauce I ordered tasted burnt. Overall, I would not recommend Chop and Wok. That being said, they were very busy that night so it’s possible that they were just having a bad night.

Ok. I feel kind of obnoxious writing this review, but, I’ve been to many takeaway stir-fry establishments in my day, and… I don’t know if they were just having a really bad time tonight or what… but… bleh. I’m amazed at how they were able to mess up Chinese fast food. It seems like other reviewers like this place, so perhaps tonight was anomalous, but I was *super* disappointed with my noodles this evening. The sauce(I opted for the sweet and sour) was so watered down and it just totally lacked any flavor whatsoever(usually the best part of these places is the abundance of MSG-enhanced sauce). The veg was really overcooked and soggy and just… all in all disappointing. My partner got a totally different noodle/sauce/topping combination and was equally disappointed– his actually just tasted burnt. Service was very friendly, though. Everyone there seemed on top of their jobs, despite it being an rather busy Friday night with lots of delivery orders coming in. I mean, maybe we just weren’t drunk enough? Obviously this place gets points for the convenience, but for roughly the same price you can pop into one of many restaurants in China Town for takeaway 10x better than this.

The menu selection sometimes takes a while to get used too, however taking the time to make the decision about what you want will result in a well cooked delicious meal. The main points of chop and wok are that it is quick, delicious, and able to be eaten while I’m walking home from the office after working late. This particular branch doesn’t get busy until 11 onwards and then it can be quite intimidating so I normally order online collect and head home.

Good food option which is kind to your pocket and filling and tasty if you happen to be around Birmingham cathedral! I ordered Malaysian noodles(they have 6+ options for the type of noodles/rice, sauce, style etc etc) which makes each combination you choose a bit different than earlier. All keeping in mind the cost and quality and the food lasts more than a meal. Worth considering!

I’m just going start and say I really like this place. I have been coming here often for few years, and mostly doesn’t dissapoint. It’s a small take away shop, but very popular. There is a small seating area upstairs, but hardly get to eat there. Mainly because I’m grabbing take away and heading somewhere or not confortable seats. I have long legs and bad posture, I constantly have to change angles and stretching so I just go somewhere else to eat. They also do delivery which is great, orderd here a lot when I was staying over at a friend’s place by the city centre. They have other take aways all over birmingham. Closest one to me is in Shirley, Stratford Road Food is always sssssteaming hot with plenty of sauce… plenty. I love it but you do get a swimming pool of sauce once you get to the bottom. By that time you’d be full anyway, atleast I always am. But that’s cause I get spring rolls ontop which I love. The spring rolls are really good and the dip is just great. I don’t know what it is but if anyone knows do let me know. Ok.now I mostly get chicken egg noodles with malaysian spice. It’s my favourite. I recently tried the rice first time and even with rice it’s still good if not better. Like I mentioned it does fill you up, portions are big. My complaints with most take aways is they put small amount of chicken, meat or prawns. I have to pay more to get extra. I do still come back time to time, it is one of the better chinnese take aways in city centre. I’ve never had complaint about my food not being good. It always tastes good and fresh. Also you get to see the chef preparing while you wait. Keep an eye on what goes in your food :)

Ok, so this place used to be really good. Tasty fresh food that you’d crave BEFORE you’d been out drinking, and then go back for more after! It’s a real shame that this isn’t the story anymore. This place’s standards have really slipped. On more than one occasion I’ve ordered and payed for one meat and gotten home to find that they’ve given me chicken instead of steak or salmon.(And not much of it either.) The boxes used to be loaded up with your chosen protein but now you have to search around the box for the scraps you’ve been left with. Also when they did get my ‘steak’ order right(i think) it was mincemeat– not the lumps of tasty beef that I’d had so many times before in 2012. The flavour was why I used to frequent this place though. The sauces were sweet, spicy– simply brilliant and definitely a treat every time. Nowadays it seems like a waste of time choosing a sauce as whatever you seem to order tastes bland and uncared for. I gave a wrap a go instead of noodles one time. Big mistake. Literally drenched in dressing to the extent that the whole thing fell apart in my hands as soon as i unwrapped it. All to reveal two small bits of protein and a handful of wilted lettuce. They’ve really let what used to be an awesome place go downhill. The only reason they’ve gotten two stars is because I didn’t get food poisoning!

Chop and Wok is a fairly new and up coming takeaway business that provides both a cold chopped wrap or salad box and a sizzling wok meal of you choice. Without a doubt after a night out every weekend I go to Chop and Wok for a nice greasy Chinese to soak up the alcohol as well as tasting the exquisite combinations that Chop and Wok has to offer. I personally always choose the honey-shredded duck with soba noodles, marinated in pad Thai sauce. It is to die for! You can create and concoct many combinations of flavours to suite your own style and taste, which makes Chop and Wok such a great oriental restaurant and takeaway. This company doesn’t follow the conventional takeaway constitutions therefore this is my reason in why I like Chop and Wok due to the excitement of something new as well as their American styled Chinese takeaway boxes!

As a Chinese fanatic, Chop Woks recent surge in popularity encouraged me to try Chop & Wok near Island Bar, to see what all the fuss was about. Upon entering the small yet eye catching building, I was greeted by smiles wherever I turned, in what was obviously a welcoming place to eat. Personally, I’m a big fan of spicy food and proceeded to ask the staff what would suit me best. They suggested the Malaysian Spice, with Chicken and noodles. I was nto disappointed, returning the various Chop & Woks to order the same thing. Overall, this particular dish has become probably my favourite meal I can order from practically anywhere. Great sized portions that make up a hearty meal, Chop & Wok is an excellent Chinese takeaway, one that I would not hesitate to recommend.

As anyone who has stumbled out of the Island Bar with an appetite will know, there are few finer takeaways than Chop & Wok. The concept is simple — you pick chop(wrap or salad) or wok(stir-fry), choose a style, add meat, fish or veggie options then finish it all off with a delicious sauce. Food is cooked fresh to order, so you simply sit back and enjoy the tasty aromas whilst your dish is prepared. It arrives in an American-style takeaway carton, which will keep your food warm on the taxi ride home. Good luck with the chopsticks if you are feeling rather inebriated. Service is always brusque, but you get the feeling that they’ve had to deal with some pretty out of it customers in the past. I swear by their soba noodles with tofu and Malaysian spice sauce. The food is genuinely delicious and the prices are reasonable(£3.90 for wraps/salads, £5.80 for stir-fry). There are lunchtime meal deals, which include a main dish, drink and prawn crackers priced at £4.90 for wrap/salad and £6.00 for stir-fry.
