It’s called Sainsburys Local and it’s definitely that. Located on Pickford Lane, it’s the closest big 4 supermarket to the station so it gets a lot of trade and consequently runs out of stuff ALLTHETIME. It stocks a lot of stuff you don’t need and hardly anything you do. So, for instance, it has like eight different types of boxes of chocolate but no bin liners. Great if you’re in trouble with your mum or missus, but rubbish if you’ve popped to your nearest shop for something you actually need. I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen this place fully stocked. I mean, it’s fine if you want a loaf of bread and you go before 5pm. Or you want to get some cereal for the morning. But if you want anything else, just go to the ASDA behind the Crook Log Surgery. It’s the same size, it’s an extra maybe five minutes walk and it has everything. Or better yet, the HUGEASDA in the Broadway.

A nice local store for essentials… It has a few issues though. Firstly, it’s laid out in the most inconvenient way with items placed seemingly haphazardly. All the veg along just the bottom row of shelves with tins of meat and veg above it. Secondly they seem to be missing relatively standard items i.e. Bacon, but has many variations of pre-cut salami If you need essentials then sure, come here. But if you don’t mind a little longer walk/drive there’s an ASDA local up that road which is 100x better.
