Stopped off on the way home. Very let down. No real ale available although handpulls are on the bar. Found the staff unhelpful but probably because they were run off their feet and no management were apparent. It looked every inch a chain pub. Very pretty but a lingering smell of burnt fat. Im sure it is probably great every other day of the year and we were just unlucky with our timing but PLEASE get an extractor fan in use asap. On the plus side the amount of food that was hurtling about looked very tasty and the large amount of diners must be testament to their usual reputation.

Great food, friendly staff, lovely landlady. Picturesque village, and some very affluent local residents too.

The unusual name of this pub comes from a 3 year old chestnut filly that won the 1813 st leger stakes at Doncaster(the owner came from Bishop Burton) It is situated in a lovely scenic spot on the york to hull road, opposite the village pond. Food is served between 12&9 every day & if you dont book for a saturday evening or sunday lunch you may not get a meal so advisable to do so. They have a menu for all tastes(childens menu too) snacks, main meals etc & often have specials(the rib eye steak & locally caught battered haddock are delicious & definately worth trying) There are still some of the origional beams left in the pub & are worth paying a visit for just to see

For a chain restaurant this was surprisingly good, the food was far better than I expected, the décor and surroundings in the pub was as I expected for the area. The Pub is located in a village on the outskirts of Beverley where ‘one only ever reads about huddies and teenage pregnancies in the Sunday Times’ !!!This is worth a try if in the area.
