Popped in to get some lunch to take to the Riverside Gardens. So much choice! I decided to go for a salad. While it was tasty, I think for £2.90 it wasn’t value for money. It was 90% rocket which is hard to eat in that quantity and I didn’t! It may be my fault, but I forgot to ask for a fork, assuming that one would be included along with a napkin, which wasn’t either! Eating hummous, beans and beetroot outside with my fingers was an experience! But I don’t want to do it again, so please give your takeaways a fork and napkin, or at the least ask if they are required. xx

Gorgeous little deli — with a café serving delicious cakes and lovely meals. A real gem of a place!

Absolutely gorgeous little gem of a place. Fresh cakes, bread, meats, olives, cheeses etc. to delight the palate and a lovely little café if you don’t think you can wait to try out some of their goodies on the premises. Had the Chatsworth Pie once(like a pork pie with a twist) — to die for! One word of warning — I did once back my pushchair into one of the shelves dividing the shop area from the café, and sent a few jars and bottles crashing. It is a little compact and bijou in there and can get very busy — but that’s because it’s so good! Well recommended.

This is the ultimate in indulgence food on the High Street, especially for a town like Belper. All the fresh foods, meats, cheeses etc are great but the real treat for me are the fine cakes that they do. There are also things like preserves and biscuits etc. It also has its own little cosy café which is well worth a visit if you can get a seat as its so popular. This shop is a real treat for anyone who likes good quality fresh foods. It could be bigger size wise and would still be full but that doesnt take away from the quality hence the 5 stars.
