I live in newtownabbey and when i want fish and chips i will drive down the motorway and call in here for them. The fish is always fantastic and the sit-in area is great during the day also. Always quiet and never too busy which to my mind is always baffling given how good it is.

I adore the staff and the food here! Lovely food made my love people. The staff here are an absolute ball and you’re always guaranteed some craic when you swing by to pick up your food or even just on the phone. But, of course, it’s their fish and chips that make them special. I’m a real connoisseur of fish, however, so my only complaint is that the batter can be a bit dry at times, but still-it’s gorgeous anyways! Check out the other dishes on the menu too, but if in doubt, ask Deborah behind the counter for a portion of fish, chips and scampi!

I’m a fan of chippys, as you may have seen from reading my other reviews, and the Moyola is the Shore Road community’s version of Manny’s — although with perhaps slightly less generous portions. But they do the most amazing curry sauce, and poured over a pastie supper — yummy. The service is excellent, the staff behind the counter are very quick off the mark, and treat the place like a military operation — bam bam bam, order after order, quick and organised. There is lots of choice on the menu, and you can sit in or take your food home. They do outside catering also — and I always think it’s hilarious that they claim to do ‘Funeral Buffets’. Would love to see that, although something tells me there is a certain local clientele that would probably think it’s a great idea to have the local chippy provide food for thier nearest and dearest!
