Hmm what can I say about Soprano’s? Its a takeaway offering the usual pizza’s, kebabs, burgers and all the usual late night greasy snacks. However the only people you will find in here are drunk… for a good reason. The food is dodgy at the best of times and I think people come here after spilling out of the local pubs for a quick food fix on the way home. Its more often than not students who frequent the place as it is cheap but in this case it really isn’t cheap and cheerful. more like cheap for a reason! OK if you’re drunk and hungry… best avoided if sober!

Soprano’s is what the post-drink snack seeking enthusiast would call a last resort. It used to be under a different name, but has kept the same staff, menu and prices, they aren’t fooling anyone. It’s still the same dodgy place it always is. Upon occasion, whenever I’ve been to late for the other usual takeaways around the area, I’ve been sucked into the dangerous world of eating a soprano’s. The glass counter displays an array of meats, coloured by whatever industrial jar of sauce they were seeped in. It’s not refrigerated or covered and whenever you decide that you’ll have the oddly purple beef with some orange chicken; they stick it in the microwave for a minute or two. It just doesn’t seem like a safe, healthy way to end a night and I won’t be doing it again.

‘Soprano’, not to be confused with the italian Sopranos in the city centre, is a takeaway created and designed for drunk people. That’s the most positive thing I can find to say about this place. The food in it is not good, the only time it has any custom is when all other places are closed and drunk people generally attracted by bright lights and a bag of chips. I’m reviewing it solely to let people know that if you want a takeaway and you stumble upon this place, keep walking. Yes it opens late but the best places in the world can open for two hours and have people queueing out the door. This place has to open until people are filled with drink before it can get custom. On the plus side, the staff are very friendly and do enjoy a chat whilst you wait. On the slightly larger minus side, the food and everything else. A definate no thank you.
