Typical Italian food chain with loads of pizzas and pasta to choose from. I have had lots from the pizza and salads section. I actually prefer the super salads than pizzas. I have always found the bases a bit undercooked and floppy, even the thin and crispy versions. There are lots of different sections to menu, offering gluten free bases and skinny pizza versions that have a hole like a donut and filled with rocket! Big selection of pastas and lasagne. Desserts like tiramisu, ice cream sundaes and lemon meringue. These are all quite big portions or you could opt for coffee or tea with small dessert. Typical chain prices, pizzas around a tenner, starters about £5 and desserts £6. Wine and beer also avail. Their menu is online. Staff are usually friendly. Warning: Lisburn road branch is swarming with dozens of very noisy children even after 8pm.

We dined here tonight and despite the fact that we hadn’t booked a table, they were able to get 8 of us seated very quickly. Service was friendly and efficient. I had garlic bread with mozzarella for starter and then a Giardiniera pizza(Artichoke, mushrooms, red peppers, tomatoes, red onions, black olives, pesto, tomato, mozzarella and garlic oil). The food was really tasty, and we had a voucher that got us the starter and main for just under £10 each. It’s worth keeping an eye on their website as they constantly have deals and vouchers you can download.

Tasty pizza, though far too thin for my liking, especially considering the price compared to other restaurants. Though their dough balls are well up to snuff!

the food in here was really good when we went but the reason I’d go back to this particular one was the service. Very attentive staff who knew their stuff and are friendly. Quick service. We had the Antipasto for starters between two of us — be prepared that thing is biiiggg! after that we were able to manage a pizza but they did for us a wee cool half and half thing as we couldnt decide. will be back

As chain restaurants go, Pizza Express has a relaxed vibe and an approachable manner that is hard to find in other fast food establishments. Yes I said fast food, and technically that’s not an inaccurate phrase for a restaurant with express in its title. I visited the Lisburn road branch on a Sunday evening to find it quite busy but with no one waiting on a table. We were quick to be seated, promptly had our order taken, served our food within a few minutes and got our requested bill without delay. Very transactional, but not in a cold unwelcome way as the waitress put us at ease and even suggested some items from the menu when we asked for her opinion. The food was good, not outstanding but pizza is as pizza does… Right? Or have I still to find somewhere really good that’ll change my mind about that?

Excellent pizza for a chain and very family friendly at this location. The menu is huge and while it mostly concentrates on pizza, there are some other choices including salad as well. Obviously the popular item is the pizza and there are a ton of choices. The spicy sausage one was excellent, especially with some additional chili oil. Service is decent as most employees appeared to be in school still, but fairly quick. Be prepared for mostly families with crazy children, but you don’t really come for the ambiance.

Pizza Express is the same no matter which one you decide to go to. This isn’t always a bad thing. Pizza Express is one of the few chain restaurants that really do produce good value, good quality food. The branch is beside Greens, which used to be awesome in my books until y last visit(update coming soon!). The open plan feel of this place is great, its always good to see the chefs working in the kitchens. One slight problem I have is the noise of the place. Come earlier than 9:30pm and the place is rammed with kids all screaming the sweet, little, annoying as hell, faces off.

A very, very pleasant experience is to be had when dining at Pizza Express. The décor inside is lovely, with exposed bricks. It really has a classy restuarant feel, you’d never guess you were eating in a chain. Go for some stuffed olives to nibble on as a starter and a nice glass of their excellent wines, or a cold beer. The pizzas are delicious. They are really authentic tasting, not far off from the top pizzas I sampled in Italy last summer. They have a crisp fresh dough and the topping are mouthwatering. Fresh toppings like proscuitto and spinach pizzas come highly recommended. I’ve also had a lovely chicken salad here which was absolutely delicious and perfect for someone watching their weight. A great place for families or young couples.

Jay Rayner once said that Pizza Express was one of the few places where a family could eat half decent, well priced food. That wasn’t verbatim but he did say something to that effect in his Observer column. Pizza Express has several chains across the city, this one located on the Lisburn Road. The menu is obviously comprehensively Italian, a focus on varieties of standard and square shaped stone baked pizzas, a spattering of Italian favourite such as spinach and ricotta cannelloni and a few interesting little anti-pasti and starters. Myself and my girlfriend headed over for a quick pre-cinema meal a while back, with a buy one get one free offer courtesy of the Times newspaper. The prices are fairly reasonable anyways but with this it ended up coming to less than £10 per head including a drink and tip. I had a square, thin and crispy Romana pizza. Atop the dough was hot sausage, speck ham and hot peppers. The pizza was crisp and crunchy, the toppings were sparse but the salty ham and the chilli heat from the sweet peppers bumped up the entire flavour and went well with the glass of Peroni Gran Reserva(a reasonably flavourful lager with a big crisp malt profile) The food was good. This place doesn’t make waves, it doesn’t give you that sense of creation and intrigue but it does serve solid, well seasoned food at a reasonable price. Other ‘interesting’ options include the Leggera pizzas. These are lower calorie low options(simply by cutting a hole in the middle of the base and filled it with fresh salad)

I’m not usually a fan of chain restaurants but I think Pizza Express is a cut above its rivals, particularly the consistently awful Pizza Hut. Pizza Express feels like a proper restaurant and the food, service and overall ambience make it well woth the extra couple of quid you have to shell out. You can get pretty much every topping you would like, as well as one for those on a diet which has the centre cut out and replaced with a crisp salad. It sounds mental but it is really, really tasty and a great option if you are trying to shed a few pounds. The doughballs are absolutely amazing and work brilliantly as a starter. The service at the Belfast outlets are excellent with particular mention going to the newest one in Victoria Square.

After being out of the UK for a long while, I was happy to see Pizza Express. This one was standardly as delicious as all the others I’ve been to. Not big on chains typically, but Pizza Express is pretty darn tasty.
