This is without a doubt the best restaurant in Belfast. Fantastic food, great wine list, and outstanding service! Focus on Seasonal and local produce. Great Vegetarian surprise meal available, too.

Top quality food right here, I sort of expected white table cloths and bow ties when the wife wanted to go to a Michelin star restaurant but was really Surprised with the rustic tables and quite relaxed staff. So yes was really looking forward to the pigeon when I arrived, but the waiter recommended the taster menu and so do I, as I wanted the pigeon he had a word with the chef and he added that in, so the taster menu is 5 courses and you don’t know what your getting, the chefs decision, the good thing about that is its food you wouldn’t normally go for, there was one course witch I wasn’t to fussed on but the rest was beautiful, my wife also paired hers with wine, a glass for each course, I’m not a wine person but there was a couple of nice ones in there the waiters know a lot about the wine they serve and also print you out a list of what you’ve had at the end, great experience, unbelievable food.

Fresh off the back of winning their first Michelin star, a trip was made to try the seasonal tasting menu in Ox. I’m not going to go into the ins and outs of the menu, as it’s better for you to just go along and have the entire menu as a surprise. The restaurant itself is very sparsely decorated and unassuming, but feels very cosy inside. Excellent service by staff, dishes were well explained(yes, you’ll get the menu given to you at the end, so you don’t need to worry about not hearing the staff as the dining area can get quite noisy). Nice selection of drinks on hand. I would have given it 5 stars, but unfortunately one of the courses slightly missed the mark.

Finally a resturant in belfast attemping something different. The food is good, but prepare yourself belfast, its small portions, not something we are used to over here. The seasonal tasting menu is a great, and exciting to see a chef in belfast push himself like this.

Recently won a Micheln Star!(SEP2015) They change the menu every month, which shows the creative side to the chefs. The price is expensive, but having this kind of establishment in Belfast is amazing. Wine is also expensive, most dishes are matched to a wine type. Perfect place for a celebration or special event

Exquisite food! We have tired the tasting menu and were very impressed. 5 courses for £55 and we added the wine pairing to each course. You don’t know what you’re getting until waiter explains what it is as it arrives(you tell them of allergies at the beginning) I love the idea and really enjoyed the experience. The food is rich in taste so the portions are not too big. They have s good lunch deal, 5:10:5

Very Nice staff, food is delicious… flavours combine perfectly. We had a 5 course surprise dinner with wine arrangement. The courses were really great and the wines fitted perfect… the portions were quite small, also the glasses of wine were small… i was still a little bit hungry despite 5 courses… i would recommend this restaurant with the friendly service and wonderfull dishes, portions may be a bit larger

Not liking Ox is something that just isn’t done in Belfast. It is locally adored and all the foodie folk say it is only a matter of time before is achieves Michelin star status, so my next sentence might be a bit of a shock– I’m just not overly fussed on it. I love the look of the place, the clean tiled lines, the recycled chairs, the view, and the food is as pretty as a picture, so what’s not to love, right? I would say that at £50 a head you want it to taste awesome, and well, it didn’t. Ok, everyone can have an off day, and I am certainly in the minority with this view, but when you are spending good money you don’t want to come out of somewhere hungry and disappointed. I’ll probably still give it another chance at some stage, but for those special occasions I’d probably stick to those who haven’t disappointed such as The Great Room in The Merchant or The Old Schoolhouse in Comber. Sorry foodies!
