I like Kiln & Loom — it’s a cute, cool little shop stocking a range of local craft and gift items. However it’s one of those sorts of shops that are great to browse — but is there really anything you would actually buy? Mmmm — well I did pick up the first edition of the awesome, locally produced Freckle magazine in Kiln & Loom — but I’m not sure what else I’d actually purchase there. Lovely shop though.

I must admit to being a little confused about this place– is it a coffee shop or is it a gift shop? Considering how small it is it does feel a little of a stretch to do both, but they are definitely trying. Stocking a beautiful selection of largely Irish crafts, gifts, homewares and jewellery to make the design freak in you reach for your purse, they also have a little coffee dock at the front. To be honest it is so cramped I’d feel a little uncomfortable having a coffee here as your conversations would be heard by people brushing past you for a birthday card, but if you fancy a fancy vase, rug or a pretty book for the kids by a local author it is wonderful.
