I dont get the hype that five guys get from overseas. The food was like a glorified McDonald’s but at much higher prices. The music they played was pretty good but didnt make up for the disappoint of the burger. I would definitely tell people if they wanted a burger to try some local places first, like Jacks Honest Food. And after it was all ate and done, I was still hungry.

I was here with a friend for lunch this afternoon. I had a veggi sandwich, small Cajun fries, and a chocolate milkshake all totalling £12. The veggi sandwich was a weird one. It was a burger bun filled with grilled onions, peppers, and mushrooms, all held together(sort of) with cheese. It was ok, a bit of a pain in the ass to eat. It kept falling apart and it wasn’t that nice given how much it cost. Probably wouldn’t have it again. The Cajun fries were awesome. The coating was gorgeous and I could’ve eaten them all day. Just be wary, their small fries is suitable for one person, medium fries is for two people, and large for three. The chocolate milkshake was the most delicious milkshake I’ve ever had. Although it was about £4.50 so it’s the most expensive milkshake I’ve ever had. I would get it again though. You can get it with whipped cream on top. For vegetarians, it’s probably not the best place for lunch. If I go back I’ll probably just get fries and a milkshake. The veggi sandwich isn’t worth the price. My friend had the same as me except she had a bacon cheese burger(which cost £8.75!!!). It wasn’t worth it. She said it was nice but it was way too small to justify the price. Her total bill came to £17. The restaurant itself was strange. The music was way too loud, we almost had to shout to talk to each other and it’s an odd thing to say but the tables were really narrow. We couldn’t sit across from each other. So overall, the place is way too expensive for what it is. They’re by no means the best burgers you’ll get in Belfast, or the cheapest, and there are much better lunch options in Victoria Square. That being said, the fries and milkshakes are awesome so I’d stop in just for them.

Oooh these burgers are to die for! Be prepared to get messy but sure isn’t that just a sign of a great burger?! Quite pricey though, £30 for 2 burgers, 2 fries and a drink. But the drinks are refillable and the fries portions are massive, I’d recommended getting a small portion. Overall pretty good, I will visit again next time I’m in Belfast for sure.

As a Five Guys ‘veteran’ of sorts(I have been before in Canada) I was both hopeful and anxious about my first Northern Ireland Five guys experience; anxious that the quality would be on a par with its North American counterpart, and hopeful that I would have a jolly good meal. It would suffice to say that I was not disappointed. Yes, it is more expensive than conventional fast food but it is far superior in quality that its rivals. I ordered a small bacon cheeseburger having been told that a normal sized one would be too big for lunch, as well as fries and a drink. It was an excellent life choice, and I enjoyed every last bite. The burger, fried in front of my very eyes, was done to perfection, and, lo and behold, actually tasted of meat(unlike some of its rivals whom shall remain nameless!). The fries were cooked thoroughly and tasted of salty brilliance. No complaints at all. My Five Guys experience was a very good one and I will be going back as much as my wallet will let me! Yes, I am probably a fair bit closer to having a heart attack than I was before my visit, but on balance, it is well worth the risk!

Confused about the hype surrounding FIVEGUYS. We came here on a Sunday, after watching the new Star Was(pointless fact) but it was about 5pm. First things first, this is a fast food restaurant. Put simply you get the fasting of experience here. The menu first of all is pretty confusing to start, but you’ll soon realise that it’s also ridiculously expensive. You can choose to double up on the patties & also choose from 15 toppings. 2 x Burgers, 1 x Fries &2 x Drinks came to over £20. Had we have walked the 50 meteres in the opposite direction you could be at McDonalds restaurant where a similar order will cost you almost half the price(albeit not the same quality). Overall I think FIveGuys is overrated, over priced and simply put, over.

I’ll be honest I wanted to give Five Guys one star even before I tried them, as such tacky fast food burger joints are everything I hate. But they’re not half as bad as I initially thought — staff are friendly and I really enjoyed the food. Plus who doesn’t like a joint which plays Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks full blast! I ordered a Veggie Sandwich which doesn’t involve an actual veggie burger instead it’s a bread bun filled with grilled mushroom, onion, peppers, cheese, mayo and relish. It was sloppy, messy and filthy to eat but more importantly and surprisingly was very, very tasty. I really didn’t need the ‘small’ fries I ordered with it, which would be enough for three people! Loved these fries which are cooked in 100% peanut oil — they really tasted beautiful. The sting unfortunately is the cost. A veggie sandwich, small fries and bottle of water set me back £9.20! I enjoyed Five Guys overall but probably won’t return due to the lack of vegetarian options and cost. I’m glad I tried it though as I enjoyed it more than I thought I would — just shows how holding preconceptions is sometimes a bad thing!

Five guys has received a lot of hype in the media recently. I decided to try it out and ordered a burger with bacon and small fries. The food was made to order, and did not take long at all. My first bite was amazing as I tasted the unreal bacon! Crispy strips of heaven! The salted fries were tasty also. Overall a great experience. The burger was a double and all the toppings were free so of course i went to town on various ingredients which to my joy worked superbly. The juice was also refillable which is classic American diner behaviour. The only thing I thought was a dissapointment was the fact that my food was put in a take out bag which caused the fries to all sit at the bottom; one of my pet peeves. The order all in for 2 was £28.00. This is pretty steep for 2 burger meals, restaurant prices for fast food like service but I am a satisfied customer and most definitely will be back!

Since the hype began regarding Five Guys moving to the UK and Ireland, I’ve honestly grown quite tired of people going on and on about the place and how it’s ‘changing the burger game forever’(a quote I’d heard numerous times!). Even before I got to try the burger, I knew I’d be left somewhat disappointed by the high standards I’d let social media have me place on the burger joint. Entering into Five Guys, the place looked exactly like I’d read about; red and white plastered on every surface, chequered signs directing what’s on offer and a surprising buzz about the place as the production line was in full swing. As I waited in line to order I helped myself to a few monkey nuts which are stored in open bags parallel to the queue. I was extra hesitant to indulge in the monkey nuts too much as I wanted to leave as much room for my burger as possible, a nice touch though, who doesn’t love monkey nuts! But if you want nuts you can go to the nut house, we’re here for burgers! It came my time to place my order and I went big, I got the double patty bacon cheeseburger, cajun fries and from a recommendation of a friend I got a bacon banana milkshake(that’s right — BACON banana milkshake!!). My friend then ordered cajun fries and a bacon cheese dog… WHAT! BLASPHEMY! Ordering a hot dog and not the burger in a place like five guys is like going to a steakhouse and ordering the salad. I thought he was crazy! As I waited for my food to be cooked I tentatively went to try my meat/fruit milkshake(even writing that felt wrong) and let me tell you something, banana and bacon works!!! The sweet delicious bacon taste resonates through the creamy banana flavors perfectly complimenting each other. We can all agree bacon is one of the most beautiful things created by mankind, lets continue to celebrate this great marvel. Thinking back I’ve never put something back and thought«too much bacon in that» or refused a dish requesting one with less or no bacon. It makes everything better, the sooner we all realize this the world will be a happier place! That’s enough ranting about bacon for now. After watching my burger being freshly made for 5 – 10 minutes, judgement time was upon us. I was able to find a seat and braced myself for what I’d heard so much about. There’s been a bit of a burger boom as of late with numerous places opening up and to be honest a lot of them had tasted fairly similar, each delicious but none mind-blowing. But the Five Guys burger — MIND-BLOWING! It was a perfect combination of grease, meat, cheese and of course bacon! The cajun fries were tasty as hell also! It’s a good thing I didn’t chow down too much on those monkey nuts as well as this was a monster feed! You’re gonna need an empty stomach for this. I did have enough space though for a bite of my friends, bacon cheese dog and if the comparison I made earlier is correct, then ordering a salad at a steakhouse isn’t all that bad! The dog was delicious, but as far as I’m concerned the burger is where its at! Now the rating — cleanliness was good, everything seemed in tip-top shape and any tables that were vacated with rubbish were quickly cleaned for the next customer to use. One thing that blew me away was the enthusiasm of the workers, these guys LOVE their burgers and they’re not afraid to show it! It’s refreshing going into a place of work where the workers are enjoying their work, it really adds to the atmosphere. With regards to the price, yes it is a little pricier than other establishments, but I’m a man who loves and appreciates a good burger and don’t mind paying a little extra if that’s what I’m getting, which is exactly what I got here. The only downside is that my January diet is going to have to be put back to February as if Five guys keep those patties as consistent as this visit, they’ve got a consistent customer in me 5 days of every week! I’ll definitely be seeing you all again very soon!

I went to Five Guys the went before Christmas and it was absolutely bunged. I had been keen to visit for ages due to the hype but in retrospect I probably picked the wrong time. Anyway, Five Guys was everything I wanted it to be. Thick, greasy comfort food at its finest. I had a double cheese burger and shared a cone of medium fries which were more than ample for two people. One minor complaint was that we couldn’t get seated straight away and ended up cosying up in a booth with two other people. I think the food justifies the hype — looking forward to visiting again when it’s less busy.

Once I heard this place was opening in belfast I couldn’t wait! The hype about the place was through the roof! I probably didn’t time it great as it was the day before Christmas Eve and at 6pm. Belfast was rammed and so was five guys. The queue was easy, you grab a menu and head to the till, place your order and you get a number, you wait around until your number gets called to collect your food. It’s then up to you if you want to eat in or take it away. I decided to sit in but it took me 5 minutes to get a seat and with your food in hand it isn’t ideal. When we finally got a seat I was pretty disappointed with the meal, the chips were good and a big portion but the burger wasn’t anything special, very average and I’ve had a lot better! And a meal costing around 15 pound you could go eat in a very better restaurant in my opinion. I can’t see me being back.

Belfast is currently experiencing a burger boom and Five Guys are the most recent restaurant to join the meaty party. This place has been hyped up loads in the media and online so I was really excited to try their grub. Yesterday Belfast was absolutely hiving so it probably wasn’t the best idea to pop in to Five Guys at 1pm. This may have slightly tainted my experience. On entrance a staff member handed us a paper menu and ushered us towards the counter to order, the queues were huge but the staff coped admirably working their way through the line. The ordering system is straight forward. Order at the till, you’re given a number and then you wait at the service area to grab your order. This seemed to confuse people and rather than line up and wait for their food everyone huddled together in a semi circle around the guy handing the brown bags out. Once you get your food you then have the choice either to take out or eat in. The only problem with eating in is there is nowhere near enough space to sit in. Yesterday every table was occupied and as the seconds ticked by our food got colder and colder — a real pet hate of mine. We eventually sat down at a booth beside other diners. The food itself was OK, nothing special. I ordered a burger with Jalepenos but these were completely devoid of flavour adding nothing but extra crunch to the burger. The burger patty was nice but not out of this world. The major bonus were the chips. They were ‘real’ and you could tell they had been freshly prepared in house. The price is what will get you! £21 for 2 meals and I didn’t even have a drink?! To me that seems extortionate, especially when you can’t get a seat to sit down and eat your meal. In my opinion there’s plenty of local places in Belfast doing better food than Five Guys without the pomp and ceremony so why not spend £20 there? Definitely worth a try to ease your curiosity but I personally wouldn’t rush back. 2.5 Stars!

Unreal, fresh, American style burgers, cool vibes all round! Bit pricey for a fast food environment but will definitely return! Peanut butter and strawberry milkshake was a bit sickening but i’ll choose better next time! The playlist was pretty cool too! 90’s grunge — hard to beat!
