I am a Marks and Spencer’s girl, however, I travel a few extra minutes for this Asda. Couple of reasons; their staff are excellent. If, I am looking for something, I don’t like to get pointed to the area, they walk me over to the item. They will also look in the back if they can’t find it. I eat a lot of sushi so the freshness of the fish is important; the fishmonger is fabulous, skinning it for me. The prices are better than Tesco, staff are friendly and helpful, even packing my groceries. I also noticed, they retain their staff, seem happy to work there. Also, good community involvement and of course a big shout out to Moses, the best person there. Brightens my day and makes me want to shop there.

I’ve always been a Tesco or Sainsbury’s man but having moved recently I find myself more often in Asda. I find it good for stuff like cleaning products, bits and bobs and some branded foods but their own selection is poor. Poor in choice and quality. Ashamedly, Asda also brings out the snob in me! Regardless of the time or day of the week, it seems to be inhabited by pyjama wearing, gormless zombies; oblivious to their kids running wild in the aisles. I know this can be true of many supermarkets but this particular Asda seems to be their favourite place to visit for an outing! On the plus side, they do flowers for about £3. Fellas, you know.

This is a bit of a random one! Everyone sort of knows what they are getting with big chain supermarkets. They try but to make themselves as attractive as possible with deals and convenience but to be honest there isn’t that much competition on this side of town. There’s two Tesco stores within about a mile radius of this shop but that’s all I can think of. We decided to visit Asda on Monday evening for a wee change from the norm and I have to say I was impressed, well as impressed as you can be with a supermarket. Ok so what’s different and why should you go! Well, as boring as it sounds there is good parking an ATM and it’s easy to get to. Next up the choice. It seems like Asda has really stepped up it’s game in terms of fresh fruit and veg and meat. They have outsourced their butchers counter here to McGee’s, a local brand and they provide fresh cuts of meat for decent prices. It’s kind of like a throwback to the bygone days where people would shop local — suppose this is the closest we can get in a supermarket. Few other points to make, they sell booze and often have good deals on. There’s also an electronics and clothing section selling all the usual suspects. All in all a good store — I don’t think I have ever said I am a fan of a supermarket before but on this occasion I am!

I have a Tescos right on my door step so it seems like a waste of time to go anywhere else. Well that’s until I visit this Asda! Asda have so much variety of meal options at affordable prices. The store is really well organised and there is loads of parking spaces!

Asda is a supermarket chain in the UK. Normally, I don’t like reviewing chains. But this store is amazing. It opened on North Belfast’s Shore Road last year and since then has become the shopping pinnacle of the area, far surpassing the local Icelands and Tesco’s. What I love about this store is not only the huge range or the fact that it’s absolutely massive but the fresh fish shop at the back of the store. It serves every species of fish imaginable, freshly caught. For a seafood lover in B’fast, this is a rarity. As well as this, Asda always have the cheapest deals around on brand names such as Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Consequently, I can only say good things about this place!
