Really cute café in Bath and offered a great selection of teas. The barista was super friendly and took the time to offer his suggestions in terms of different flavor profiles and smells. I ordered the jasmine tea, which was quite bitter but nevertheless really good. The store itself is really cute and also served very interesting juices.

Tucked into the sheltered outer layer of Bath Southgate is Mokoko, another nice place to get coffee and have chitchat with a chum. This morning, we worked our way through a decent coffee(£2.50 for a cappuccino, and in real cups) complemented with the best croissant I’ve had in ages, and that’s saying something because I love croissants! The guys working in there are young and friendly, and the cake looks amazing(we’ll be back for that). There’s no room to sit in, so outdoor seating is all you’ll get, which invariably means sharing secondhand smoke with every second person that walks by, but it’s worth it just for the croissants and the fact that the bus depot is far enough out of sight. There’s loads of competition in Bath for this sort of thing, and as these guys are just starting out(I think), what they have to offer is limited. With time, I think this may grow into quite a good business, as long as it’s able to stay competitive across the road from the likes of Bertinet Bakery(illy coffee, great pastries) and Jika Jika. Their immediate neighbours are Giraffe, Jimmy’s and Caffe Nero. Here’s hoping you’ll corner the market in croissants!

As we were sat outside enjoying a nice croissant and coffee, a couple walked past and dismissed this new place with«oh another new café!». Well I have to say I’m glad there are always new places to go in Bath. Mokoko is actually pretty good — nice coffee, nice croissants and some great looking cakes. We would definitely go back. It’s only negatives are how busy the traffic is outside and that there is only outside seating. But it looks great, has friendly baristas and good food. A nice edition to Bath’s thriving coffee scene.
