Essencia/Dubstep City @ Komedia

Seems like a really lovely, beautifully restored old theatre. We came over to see Julian Cope last year and found it accessible, good characterful atmosphere and with pleasant, helpful staff. Looking for an opportunity to go back soon!

I’m not quite sure how they’re managing it, but this group have been bringing in some of the biggest names in dubstep to Bath over the past few months. I went to see Skream play at one of their nights, hosted at Po Na Na. I’m not a big fan of the venue — it was way too small for the amount of people they were trying to cram in, but the very fact that Essencia managed to get this guy to play a tiny place in Bath is just baffling (in a good way). They’re the best promoters of the genre in the area, Bristol included, with other acts including Benga, Chase & Status and Nero. They’re next night is to be hosted at Komedia, so if you live in Bath and are into dubstep in any way, then I recommend you head down and check it out.
