The Entertainer

The Entertainer is a toy store in Basingstoke’s Festival Place. It’s located near the library and as others have mentioned can be a bit difficult to find if you’ve never visited before. The store itself is neat and tidy but at the same time absolutely jam– packed with toys from floor to ceiling. If you have children, or are a child at heart then this is a fun store to browse through. Generally I find that they stock the more wholesome toys, you don’t see as many guns or blood and guts that you find in other toy stores these days. Their prices are about average, although they do frequently have really good price knock-​downs so look out for those. Another thing I like about the store is the fact that at Christmas they put up a Nativity scene rather than inundating shoppers with yet another Santa Claus. The staff are always really helpful and generally know where to find the toys they stock.

This store is in one of the corners of the shopping centre, only came across it because we were lost but its a really nice sized toy store and we found some nice little bits in there. There were plenty of staff and a huge amount of toys, bit like a toy wonderland for children as the shelves are stacked with various toys from floor to ceiling! Plenty of choice in here and not too expensive either.

this is a little toy shop situated in a quiet part of town but always worth a visit, the staff are very helpful and willing to help you find what you want, they have a good selection of toys and always seem to have the latest fads but they do sell out quick because many people know they are good and the fads tend to get snapped up. they cater for all age groups here from baby to older child, and have someone on each section who will give you advise, at times i have picked up a great bargain from here, sometimes half the price of other toy stores, so its always good to pop in if your in town just in case, only downside to this shop is they dont open on a sunday which is a shame as many people go to town on a sunday so you will only be able to window shop on this day overall a small and freindly little toy shop

This store is in the main centre in basingstoke however I did the first time I went here find it quite hard to locate — not knowing the centre at the time.
It is tucked out the way up near the libary.
A nice sized store packed with toys. the store its self is neat and tidy and clean.
The aisles are small as you seem to find in post toy shops. plenty to look at in a easy to find order.
I do think The Entertainer toys are pretty pricey and you can find the same products much cheaper in other shops — but sometimes they do have good bargains to be found and also some toys i have never seen anywhere else.

The Entertainer is located in an indoor shopping centre quite out of the way from the other stores so it is not one that you would come across easily. It sells a wide range of toys all very neatly displayed so it is quite easy to find what you require. The prices are reasonable and I have on occasions found items in this store cheaper than in others which is a good sign. It also sells quite a large selection of playmobile items that you may not find in other toy shops and the selection of toys is well thought out. When you have purchased your goods you take them to the till and there are usually 2 to 3 shop assistants who serve you. They are very friendly and helpful. There is also a nice touch as they have a little step ladder that the children can climb up to hand the goods over themselves. I feel this store gives a bit more of a personal touch than some others do and I quite like that.

Lots of promotions in this shop and a very good selection of toys.
You could do all your toy shopping in one go.
It is not in a very good spot in Festival Place but a must do visit.

This toy shop seems to get forgotten partly due to the fact that it is up a mostly unpopulated part of the shopping centre which most people don’t walk through! It is a large toyshop offering old style service with all the upto date toys available at a reasonable price. the entertainer is a chain of toy shops so you know you are buying from a reputable toy shop and getting a good deal! they seem particularly good at toys such as lego and also do regular promotions on most big toy brands. Definetly a place to visit for Christmas presents, for big kids too as they stock a good range of board games too!
