Bottle & Glass Pub

I went a couple of times last year and the food was nice on both occassions — really nice choice on the menu and of a good quality. Lovely open fire in the bar.

Rising from the ashes like the legendary phoenix The Bottle & Glass is a wonderful country restaurant /​pub located on the A418 on the way to Thame.
Plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink, the food was excellent last time I visited there and as it was my mother’s 60^th birthday they even let up decorate the table ahead of her arrival!
Staff are very pleasant, helpful and attentive which was suprising considering just how busy it gets in there. only because the place is fab!
The seating area outside is well lit and heated should you feel the need for some fresh air.
I’m also going to have to agree with atparry regarding the A418 not being the most tranquil of places but I can overlook considering how nice it is. oh and definately book in advance because it is popular.

The Bottle and Glass is a well recommended place for some food or just a drink and is nicely placed just between Stone and Haddenham, although the entrance has a very nasty turning so please take care especially when coming out as this is a very busy road. The place has very recently been refurbished due to a unfortunate fire but it has done the place a massive favour as is much better decorated now. The food is great with a mixture of pub grub ideas mixed with their own little twists. The portions are very generous and everythi g seems fresh with great chunky chips. The staff are brilliant and seem very attentive and friendly.

The Bottle & Glass is located in Gibraltar, between Thame and Aylesbury. The venue has been completed rebuilt. It has a log fire and candle lit tables. It also has a few tables outside, to the front, but as this pub is located on the busy A418 may not be too tranquil. The theme is traditional local sourced food, and the menu is full of good choices. The home made moussaka served is particulary good.
Well worth a visit — but do book in advance.
