As pubs go, it is one. Reminded me of an old college bar I used to frequent in Texas. Smelled of stale beer and had a diverse crowd. Good for a break or a quick visit. Bunch of places to sit, a good sized menu to order from(at the bar). Staff is friendly and inviting, they have a good selection of beers. I had a couple pints and ordered the pie for dinner. Food was good. All in all a good place to grab a drink and take a load off for a while.

Große Auswahl an Wihiskeys. Die Toiletten waren sauber und groß. 5 Sterne für einen großartigen Abend!

This is my favorite pub in Aberdeen, or anywhere, hands down. Built in the 1850’s, they have the longest bar in Scotland that goes the length of the right side. You can grab a seat at the bar, or find a quit seat in a nook or cranny. Some may say the bar is a little bland, there really is not a lot of stuff cluttering up the walls. Just a few brewery signs. No TV, unless they pull out one for an important match. You order food and beer at the bar. If you have food, the bartender gives you a ticket, and you walk to the back. The cook takes your order, and it is out in about five minutes. Overall, this place has very good serivce that is knowledgeable and quick. The food is decent, mostly smaller bites. Though lately the menu resembles more and more that of other Belhaven/Green King owned pubs. Anyway, the curry is always good. OK, enough of that. This place is known for their cask ales. About 8 hand pumps. All rotate except their own Prince of Wales Ale(which I think is just Ossian, but I have never been able to confirm that). This has always been a Belhaven owned pub, but since the acquisition to Green King I have noticed many more GK casks on offer. Still always an excellent and rotating selection. Other than that, always rotating between Inveralmond, Harvestown, JW Lees, Tim Taylor, PG Steam, ext, ext. I think I read over 500 in the last few years. Which tells me people here really support Real Ale, and are able to turn over casks properly. The cellarmanship of the casks are always top notch. The quality here can not be beat. They know cask, period. Not to mention an excellent Scotch selection, maybe second only to the Grill in Aberdeen. The clientele here is very diverse. You will be next to people drinking port, whiskey, Real Ale, or macro lagers like Tennents(with the stereotypical people for each respected drink). Everybody mingles, and is an awesome place to visit. A true Scottish pub, and a gem.

I lived in Aberdeen for nine months in 2009, and The Prince was — despite being a twenty minute walk from my flat — my pub of choice. For me, this is the pub for all seasons — it has everything I like in a pub; real ale, good malt, eclectic clientele, traditional grub, nooks and crannies and friendly staff. The range of ales on offer is second-to-none, they have their staples and a fantastic range of guests on rotation from various breweries including Harviestoun, Kelham Island, Williams Brothers and Inveralmond. The food is the business too — steak pies, fish and chips, lasagne, stovies — classic pub grub done splendidly well! I can’t rave about this place enough — I’ve had some truly memorable nights in here and it an absolute belter of a pub.

The best pub in the world. I have been going here for nearly 10 years and it really has not changed much. The ale selection is always great, the food is good(used to be amazing) and the atmosphere is second to none. The staff are friendly and many are the same as when i first started going which is a good sign. It is a place that always feels like home, so i try to visit here every time i am in Aberdeen.

Regular haunt especially after shopping in the Deen, can get very busy but usually easy enough to get served. Plenty of Real Ales on tap. I’m pretty sure the food has changed with new ownership which is a real shame as the steak pie and chips was a great hangover treat on a Sunday! Can’t comment on new food as I’ve not tried it since the change. There was talk that a chain had taken over and fears that the bar would be modernised but I’m glad to see it is still the same as always. Great proper pub to have a blether in!

Great traditional pub! Grab a hand pulled cellar ale and ponder what the little trough that runs underneath the bar is for…

Good Food, good Value & wine on draught!!! What more could a girl ask for? The ability to book a table would be appreciated. Whilst the food is excellent, there is one chef who isn’t quite as good as the others — he has grey hair and a moustache. Otherwise — a fantastic place.

Food is lovely here, esp the steak pie, and the beer is great. The only problem is getting a seat. I soppose thats the price of success.

A great pub with lots of old fashioned character. It’s a great place to visit at lunchtime but can get too busy as everyone wants to eat and drink there. The food is fantastic and freshly cooked and inexpensive. There is a big variety of drinks and beers/ales which appeals to everyone. As soon as you walk in through its dark wood doors you will be mistaken for thinking its old and dingy, but keep going and you immediately feel the atmosphere. A mixture of age groups. Worth a visit if you haven’t been there already.

Another good old yet suitable for younger people pub, food is good and again this place has character. Situated in a nice location very central yet hidden.

The best bar in Aberdeen. Fantastic selection of beers, friendly regulars and a cosy atmosphere. If you ever get the chance go on any bank holiday sunday night, fantastic!
