I can’t quite go 1-star, but Amigo definitely skirts the line between 1– and 2-stars… — Produce is, for the most part, poor at best. Peppers — wilted, bruised, in bad shape. Grapes? Wrapped in cling wrap, bruised, brown, nearly rotten. Unless it’s something like a root vegetable or a thick-skinned fruit, it’s going to be quite rough here. — Horribly unorganized. Difficult to find items. — Very, very limited selection of cold beer. Unless you want Corona, Coors Light, or Medalla Light, everything else is in a middle aisle and is warm/hot. + They have option to purchase single bottles of beer + Aisle selection of beer is surprisingly good — Looking for chicken? Hope you like Tyson. — Looking for some dairy(like half-n-half)? Super small/limited selection. A single small cooler. — Service is *atrocious* — extremely slow. Never more than two check-out aisles open, and there’s *always* a long, glacially-slow line of customers in the check-out lines. Staff — slower than slow. — And, unless you’re a local, don’t expect a smile or any semblance of decency from the staff here. Try to speak Spanish with them, and they’ll speak English. Speak in English, and they’ll only reply in Spanish. — We were regularly«cut-off» while in line by locals who would bypass us to checkout with their items. Staff always allowed it. I absolutely despise Wal-Mart, but even so, they should be embarrassed to be associated with this establishment.

This supermarket is no different than any regular one. They have better prices here than in NYC though. Haha The staff is helpful, even though they don’t speak much English. As long as you know your basics, you’ll be fine The store is organized and clean and the cashiers do theirs jobs very well. I would recommend.

Not a Wegmans, but as good as any mainland super market, maybe a little better. Has all the essentials for your vacation, is clean and well kept. The staff are friendly and waiting to help. We were in and out of there about 4 – 5 times in our week stay to pick up the daily groceries. If there is any item they dont have, the Walgreens next door has it.

Nice market for essentials. Produce is expensive but they do have organic carrots, russet potatoes, red potatoes, apples & some other things. Meat prices r good beef is $$. Checking out is SUPER slow. They do have Walmart brand items that R cheaper.

Looking for a supermarket to do all your food shopping while vacationing? Look no further. They pretty much have everything you’ll need.

We arrived late into PR so we had to get the basics since we were renting a house. Amigo is right down the street, and yes it owned by Walmart which is further down and 24hrs but Amigo was fine. Produce was a bit pricy but the met and chicken prices were very good. It had everything we wanted to stock the house for the 8 days and they had reasonable hours. Clean and friendly staff.

Very un-Puerto Rican of a grocery store. I thought I’d find more unique Puerto Rican local items in this store, but almost all times were things you could find in a regular grocery at home. Produce and veggies were disappointing, but I guess this place is your best bet when you’re in Luquillo for a few days and want to save money by cooking yourself. For fruit, I recommend the little roadside fruit stand on Rt. 3 that has much better papaya and mangoes for cheaper.
