There aren’t many dining options in Whitford. In fact, when we drove through, Lime Tree was the only one we spied! It’s tucked down an embankment just off the main road, with plenty of outdoor seating and roaming chickens. It looks like a scene from Wind in the Willows. The café has a short menu and a cabinet choccas full of food but when we went it was all glad-wrapped up — not the most appealing look. We settled on ham & cheese toasties, which yea, are pretty hard to stuff up but these were gold. Up there with the best. White buttered bread — THREE slices — toasted with the perfect amount of tasty cheese and ham. Just like you used to get at the school tuck shop… nostalgic bliss! I don’t know if I’d go out of my way to go back to Lime Tree but I was in the area I’d definitely pop back-in for a toastie or two.

Nice and cozy place by the little creek. If you come on a bright sunny day it would be the nature’s retreat. Walk in and feel yourself at home garden atmosphere. Friendly service, nice coffee and brunch offers such a nice conversation start. Try the mushroom on toast, quiche and dessert you wouldn’t regret.
