First breakfast in Wellington! I absolutely love the interior décor! It’s a mix of Aztec and south american themed with lots of fairy lights :) me and The Saucey one ordered a breakfast each, breakfast burrito and the Burns scramble, very very generous servings — I couldn’t finish mine sadly :(I am not a coffee drinker however my mocha was really smooth, I almost got another one: P

Strolling down the street when we spotted the place. Pleasant room and good food. Sunday breakfast… so don’t know how dinner can be. However, everything was spiced in a nice lively manner… and service was good. I’ll have to look for the pictures I took, will post later.

great food, pity about the service. had the Crayfish burger and beer match for Wellington on a Plate, very very delicious. the staff were all smiles and seemed happy to be there, however despite them ringing me that day to confirm my booking, they had no knowledge of it when we turned up to eat!?! they didn’t seem interested in selling us drinks(empty glasses for most of the meal) or dessert.

The worst breakfast experience I’ve had in Wellington. Painfully slow service(50 minutes from sitting down to finally getting food), poor food(over mixed pancakes were chewy and dense) and missing items(order was meant to include bananas, when I asked about them I got a curt«we ran out» with no apology, no offer to substitute, and no refund). Tables were not cleared of old dishes when we sat down, and never were cleared while we were there. Drinks orders were wrong… Hard to know how it could have been worse.

Superb coffee — my fave brew in Wellington city at the mo. It is just consistently good, which can’t be said for every café. I have only had brekkie there but whatever I have had has been good, though the brekkie burrito needs a bit of work — perhaps simplification? Staff are great, owner has big personality, which shows in what the café looks like, feels like, and delivers.

Maybe the staff need to work on their service or maybe, just maybe, the diners need to work on hardening the f**k up. The café is busy. Really busy sometimes. If you have issues with slow or rude service, speak up! I hate it when people gripe about something, but then don’t say anything to resolve the issue. Restaurants and cafes need to hear feedback, and a review site is one place you can let your violent and passionate hate flow. However, another route you can take is to let your server or waitstaff know! They’re in the service industry and should be catering to please you. Passive-aggressive behavior only comes back to haunt and not help you, dear diner. That said, café workers should realize that there’s a certain expectation of niceties when working in the SERVICE and HOSPITALITY industry. A smile goes a long way, and sometimes, an apology with an «I’ll get right on it» will work wonders. I like this place because it’s no-nonsense. It’s run almost similar to a fast-food establishment, but with a lot better food. Their vegetarian burger is the best in Wellington. Hands down. They’ve got tasty curly fries, too. I’m a devoted carnivore, but I end up ordering the veggie burger every single time because I know it’ll be delicious. They should definitely think about entering it into the Burger Wellington competition. Evenings are much more delightful without the lunch time crowd rushing to get their meals in under an hour.
