With over 3 floors, Krikcaldie & Stains showcases some of the best local and international merchandise from Women and Men’s fashion to designer homeware. They also do a really nice selection of gourmet goods — the entrance is off Brandon Street.
Kirkcaldie and Stains is best described as New Zealand’s very own version of Harrods! Wellingtonians put the legendary green doorman on the map, way before Vogue dreamed up the idea for their 2015 Festival!
Alas, Kirkcaldie & Stains was recently bought out by an Australian company and so there goes, yet another local institution that has been around for more than a 150 years.
Rumor has it, Kirkcaldie and Stains are set to go out in style, so keep an eye out for their legendary Christmas window display along Wellington’s Golden Shopping Mile, Lambton Quay!
