I’m a bit conflicted in how to rate Triniti of Silver as I have walked past it countless times and have always been quite curious although a bit weary that they on occasion really misspell items on their specials board. I needed breakfast on-the-go and instead of going to the bakery across the road I opted for the healthy option. To be clear I am basing this review on a single item for take-away. However this single experience left me mildly traumatized. I went in thinking about getting a smoothie but then instead opted for a gluten-free mushroom & feta frittata. The frittata was encased in a pureed lentil cup(like a cupcake cup), which was purple(so assume they were puy lentils) that was so burnt and overcooked it tasted like cardboard. The egg filling was edible but a small part compared to the cardboard casing. Even though I was famished I was forced to throw out 2/3’s of this ‘frittata’ that I had just paid $ 5 for. This frittata clearly hadn’t been tasted by it’s creator or else it would have been binned. The staff member that served me too was a bit snappy when she insisted that I take a seat to wait for them to heat it up. At first I was going to give 3 stars, giving leniency for a bad batch and that I hadn’t tried other items on the menu. However, in reading other reviews of how vegetarian and gluten-free is one of their main focuses, a 2-star rating is well-deserved.

Week day lunch date here with hubby last week and was quite impressed. We both went for pasta, I had a creamy chicken, mushroom, spinach dish — very delicious and generous portion. Hubby ordered the vegetarian pumpkin ravioli, I tried his too(as you do), just as tasty as mine — 5 stars for the quality of the food for sure. The coffee is all press, great brand but wasn’t the best latte I’ve had in the area(head down the road to Cosset;)). Service was attentive, fast and friendly. The venue itself is really spacious, we enjoyed a large table to ourselves out of earshot to anyone else, but could have sat in the courtyard, outside or inside in another adjoining room — so bring friends!

Triniti is a bit hipster but not in a pretentious way. It’s not a flashy café with the fancy aluminium chairs & tables… blah blah blah… the food makes up for that. The eggs benedict is one of the best I’ve had in ages. There’s no fluffing around with this one… this is quality! Also… The mango smoothies… To.die.for.

A friend recommended this place to me and I always like to make an effort to try places that my friends have thought were good. To be honest I didn’t really get what they were on about, the café is part of the information centre and really isn’t much to look at. The service was ok, but when our food was brought to the table it was dumped on which made a loud noise and spilt my coffee. The prices weren’t that cheap, the eggs bene was around $ 17 I think and I have had better elsewhere. I don’t want to put people totally off this place our waiter might just have been in a bad mood, but I won’t be making it my first choice as it wasn’t really my style.

There’s lots of reasons to like Triniti of Silver: — they were until recently the only decent café in the Mt. Albert shopping strip — they’re based in a pretty grouse ‘70s building; a former post office, complete with port holes and little nooks — they have great options for vegetarians and vegans — they use free range and organic ingredients, plus can tell you where the ingredients come from. — if you’re here sans children and wish to only have adult company, they have a «child free zone». — the food is good and the service happy. Until recently they had a pile of posters pinned all over the place that had aphorisms on them; one or two of them always seemed ever so slightly offensive but they seem to have been quietly tidied away somewhere.

When ever my car goes in to get a warrant, I always walk to the Triniti of Silver café to have a smoothie or a coffee. It’s never been overly busy there from what I’ve seen and they do pretty good smoothies and coffees. The service is good but it does take quite a long time to get what you order. This is usually no problem for me as I’m trying to kill time as it is, but I can imagine it would be pretty annoying for someone just popping in to get a coffee on their way to work or something. I like the café though, there’s some nice artwork on the walls and there’s always magazines there to read if you get bored.

I used to work next to this café, and I went there a couple of times. Never go on your lunchbreak because by the time your food is ready, it’ll be time to go back and you’ll have to wolf it down like a fatty. But, in saying that, their food is pretty good. I’ve had better coffee, though. It’s in a pretty sweet spot if you live in the area and you don’t want to drive to other areas that have more café options; it’s definitely the best(if only) café on that section of New North Road, but that’s not realty a good selling point.

If you’ve ever been through Mt. Albert you may well have noticed the oddly-shaped building with the oddly-lettered, oddly-spelled sign on the corner of Carrington and New North Roads. As you may have guessed from what you saw, it’s a slightly alternative, slightly hippy café. The food leans towards all the in things for those with the right ethics and income bracket — gluten-free, free-range, plenty of vegetarian options. I’d hazard a guess their coffee is fair-trade as well(although I haven’t been able to verify that). If you’re in the mood for some good food and some world-saving choices, this is the place to go.

I used to live down the road from this café and would go there when I felt like a coffee or going out for breakfast but didn’t want to fight the traffic. It has a really good focus on free range, gluten free, vegetarian food. Their meals are always really delicious. My favourite is gluten free bread with avocado, bacon, tomato and cream cheese. Their gluten free friands and macaroons are so delicious and are a huge weakness for me when craving a sweet treat. They have recently renovated the café and it is looking way better. There’s a huge outdoor area that’s covered in so you can enjoy the fresh air without getting burnt. Also, they have nights where they’re open late and have a jazz band playing, which sounds like an awesome night to me! This is a great asset for Mount Albert and a great place to visit.
