Gengy’s

We ended up here at Gengy’s in Manukau after our children expressed a desire to go. As much as I really do not like buffet-​style food, kids love it and I love anything Asian so I pushed away my visions of ghastly Valentines-​esque low-​hygeine yuckiness and braved it for the kids’ sake…
I was pleasantly surprised. It is a buffet-​style place where you grab a plate and choose from chopped vegetables, sliced meats, prawns, condiments and sauces etc — as much as you can pile on — and give it to the chef who cooks it on the hotplate. And I concede it was pretty tasty, enough to go back for seconds!
Dessert is obtained by scooping your own ice cream and a topping of your choice — again a winner with the rugrats.
I guess this place would be good for a meal with a large group — there is a family atmosphere and it is relaxed and casual and certainly nobody will go home starving!
