The Indian restaurants in Grey Lynn appear to be in a bit of a bidding war at the moment, which is great for the customer! Whether you’re ordering at the swanky restaurant down the road or Barkat, a glorified hole-in-the-wall with a few sparse tables, you can walk away with a swiftly made $ 10 main. Barkat’s staff lacks the kind of interpersonal skills that I would qualify as customer service, but they make great curries. If you can see past the bordering-on-rude service and tuck into a dal makhani, you won’t be disappointed.
