There aren’t too many breakfast spots in the area so finding this was absolutely a treat! Walked in on Valentines morning and expected a long wait but to our surprise, we were seated right away even though the entire place was packed. The décor is very old school, with old wooden chairs and tables. They had special Vday dishes but we just went with the regular menu items. Upon being seated, a server placed peppers, salsa, wedges of lime and danish style cookies on our table. Our waiters spoke pretty good english so we had no problems ordering. My beau wanted to try the chicken chilaquiles topped with a fried egg and the Omelet Tito which comes with carne asada and chorizo, with a side of refried beans, hash browns and a generous scoop of avocado. Since I couldn’t decide what I wanted, we just ordered these two dishes to share. Every dish comes with a choice of quesadilla or chicharron soup and we both had the chicharron soup. They serve fresh warm corn tortillas with the soup. Then they replenish the tortilla basket by tossing the ones we didnt consume and placed fresh ones to serve with our main dish(I’m slightly picky about stuff like that so my hubby watched the server as he took the basket away). Both of our dishes came out much bigger in portion than we expected and were absolutely delicious! Our meal came out to $ 15 with the current exchange rate of almost 19 mxn to 1 usd! By the time we were finished with our meal and left the restaurant, there was a huge line of people waiting outside! I guess we just got a good head start that day!

I ordered the chilaquiles, and got the sope and beans with it. I was very disappointed. It was all very basic, with not much flavor and spice. With hot tea, the total price was 100 pesos… not bad.

Things here are cheap. We ordered 9 plates for 9 people as well as coffee and juice. You get a complimentary quesadilla, menudo, or chicharon soup with each plate. The price came out to about $ 6 per person with tax and tip. Good price and very filling! Best items: The chilaquiles are probably the best thing here — i typically prefer salsa verde on them, but the salsa roja was much better here. I would say a lot of the other items we got were so-so, like the cactus omlette, machaca and eggs, catfish and eggs, etc.

Great breakfast joint. If you can’t find something good, that’s your problem. The service was great as well as the food.

We hit this spot every time we are in Ensenada. .best food, best service in town. Lobster was cooked to perfection, the veggies AL dente not mushy like some other places. Our waiter remembers us every time AND makes each meal an event for us. Yesterday we finished a delicious lunch with their authentic recipe flan, he even poured brandy and flamed the flan for us. A visit to Ensenada is not complete without a meal at Las Consuelas

Back in Ensenada and back to my favorite Mexican breakfast in the world. The Rajas con Queso omelette! Eggs have never been treated so well! Complimentary bowl of chicharron soup and I was in heaven!

I asked a local vendor where he recommended a great meal. He quickly responded with Las Cazuelas. They serve breakfast til noon– 12:30…the lunch/dinner menu has a variety of seafood, poultry, and steak options. The restaurant is best known for their seafood, won various awards at local festivals and fairs. I ordered the filet mignon with pepper sauce… amazing!

Fist experience rating is 5 stars because not only is the service great but the food is definitely delicious. Found this place because there was nothing else open for breakfast at 8:30 am on a Sunday. The restaurant also has chef trophies displayed out in front. At first we thought they were footbol trophies, but then realized they were culinary trophies. We thought this place would be good and sure enough it met our expectations. The server was top notch, courteous, attentive, polite and great with kids. Would definitely come here again.
