Located above a kopitiam(Nanking), parking can be quite challenging here, but then it’s Taipan. Parking is mostly challenging. Read about this café on some blogs and it looked more inviting in the photos. It was relatively empty when we stepped in despite it being a Friday night. Maybe more of a brunch crowd? Anyway, they have a few types of rice or rice dishes and I decided to go for the Kimchi fried rice(result of watching too much K Dramas!) and added on a portion of their signature Roasted Salted Chicken. It was served quite quickly and I proceeded to tuck in. The rice is evenly coated but had little kimchi taste to be honest, so that was a little disappointing. The chicken was bold in flavours considering that it has been brined before being roasted. But it was not as warm as I would prefer it to be. My chai latte was too sweet, so I guess I’m gonna skip that next time. But it was a nice place for me and my friend to catch up on a rainy night.

Eek indeed! Poor food choices and poor quality of a cup of hot latte. Seats in the restaurant don’t seem friendly,

Loved this place! The coffee is good and we really enjoyed the food. We tried the mixed rice and the baked eggs. A little tough trying to find parking spaces in the area. Would recommend this place if you want a place to chill and chat over a meal.

The place is cosy but finding the stairs upstairs isn’t exactly straightforward. The baked eggs looked nice but had too much tomatoes and capsicum. Taste wise it was ok but other than that I wouldn’t come all the way here for that again. The French toast looked messy as they tried to make it artistic with the sauces. Coffee was good, ordered the flat white and the temperature and milk frothing was done at a good temp making it just nice and sweet.

This is new café in Taipan, I read about it on a food blog so I decided to give it a try. It is located above the corner coffee shop across from Paparich. The café looks nice, they made pretty good use of the limited space and they even have a little dining area out in the balcony. The staff there are very friendly, perky even. They are very well mannered and polite. We sat down and they presented us with the menu and they also informed us of items that are sold out. I really liked that they do that, there were so many time where I’ve set my sight on a particular item on the menu only to be disappointed when the waiter informs me that it’s not available. They don’t have much variety on the menu, there’s about less than 10 entrees to choose from. Usually restaurants put little markings next to their must-try to signature dishes and often times the end product doesn’t rally live up to its recommendation but still we keep falling for this little gimmick. Guilty as charged, there was a little star next to the salted chicken chop in the menu we decided to try that and the kimchi fried rice. Now I was prepared to be disappointed, I mean I didn’t want to get my hopes up, because everyone else in the place was having the pesto pasta and not the chicken, I thought I’ve made the wrong choice. Lucky for me it was just a pure coincidence that the other tables ordered the pasta because the salted chicken chop was incredible. A big juicy helping of slated chicken whole leg served with a side of salad and mashed potatoes. The mash was rather interesting, it was cold and it was accompanied with some sesame salad dressing. Weird no? But surprisingly it didn’t taste that bad. The Kimchi fried rice was good too although they were a little too generous with the garlic. I’ve since been here quite a few times and I must say that I really like this place. The service is good and the assistant manager here actually takes the time to talk to the diners and get their feedback about the food.

Payed a visit here with a friend recently after finding out that they serve Shakshuka as one of their all say breakfast foods. We actually spent Half an hour looking for the place. actually it isn’t hard to find, it’s above a little Chinese coffee shop and opposite Pappa Rich. Finding parking is a huge problem, especially during peak hours, I suggest you park in the high ride carpark down the street in front of Kimarie. The café is petty big with plenty of seating. Though a little bare, it’s done up nicely. There’s even a small outdoor seating area for those who want to smoke. The service is excellent here. Though we came during an off peak hour, the waiter was attentive and polite. My friend ordered the Penne pesto chicken and I had the shakshuka. Sad to say that I didn’t really enjoy the shakshuka and I probably wouldn’t order it again. The eggs on top were overlooked so there was only a tiny bit of runny egg yolk in it. There was hardly any chicken sausage in it, though the of vegetables and tomato sauce was plentiful. Overall the dish was just okay and lacked salt. I personally didn’t enjoy it too much. The Penne pesto chicken was good but again, nothing really fantastic. The pesto was good but a little too thin and not creamy enough. For dessert we ordered a slice of Caramel Tiramisu cake to share. The cake was too dry and I could hardly taste any caramel at all. The pricing here is pretty reasonable so if you’re on a budget Bedrock is a good choice.

Bedrock is the one of the newer restaurants that opened in Taipan, and despite its hard to pronounce menu items, the things here actually taste pretty decent. Let’s take a look at the cup of latte that they serve. Admittedly tasting slightly more commercial than anything else that I have tasted, it is easy for the beginner coffee drinkers out there. Their dishes, which usually consist of eggs, are tasty, especially their Shakshouka. Despite its terribly sounding name, it is an exotic dish, and should be tried with your friends to experience decent food with the primeval ambience that they offer there. That being said, Bedrock is the place to go if you ever want your coffees sweeter than usual, and your dishes as exotic as possible. Mmmmm.

In the busy streets of Taipan lies a café/restaurant that is not.6 months old, yet many of my friends, bros and colleagues are talking about it already. I heard they have an extensive menu including their savoury dishes. It took my colleagues and I about 15 – 20 minutes to find a parking there during the lunch hours. I wasn’t hungry so I went for the drinks. I gave the latté a try after years of not drinking it. It tastes good though. I do wonder whether they used imported beans like some other cafés or not. Their ambience is also really cozy and relax. It is really spacious, so you won’t feel cramped. They also have a balcony where smokers or customers who likes the breeze could enjoy! I would probably return but not with the parking issue being in the red zone during peak hours

Just noticed this placed today and I thought it was a gourmet restaurant, walked up and it’s super spacious! The tables and chairs are set in a way that this is a coffee café. Bedrock recently open, so no wifi haha. But this place has a good space, not so crowded, can have a lot of group sittings. I like the outside balcony area, open air and feel the wind breeze while having your coffee. But then it’s Taipan, smoke and hot air only. I like the friendly service they provide, the waitress was helpful in explaining the menu and recommendations. So I ordered the Shoushaka baked eggs because I was not that hungry. And it was delicious! Very feeling though. Eating with the toast bread was excellent, the white cream taste a little bit like yogurt but for me It didn’t go well with the bread. Sadly I couldn’t order any hot drinks because of some malfunction in their machine. But water was fine. The food and friendly service had me interested in coming here again. Most of the staff here are very young, campus students I think and their services are good. I would come here again and try the rest of the meals and coffee.

Located just above Nanking Coffee Shop, lies the new café craze in USJ10. Bedrock is smack dab in the midst of the Taipan hustle and over the course of these few months, has managed to gain quite the buzz amongst Subang locals. Taking a good friend along, we made our way to Bedrock. Their lot was average sized, but the huge glass windows gave the illusion of space. I had their Shakshouka(RM16), while my friend got the primavera(RM15). I thought the Shakshouka turned out great, actually. The tomato sauce and chicken sausages complimented the eggs perfectly. The entire dish was very professionally executed, and came with a side of garlic bread as well as yogurt for dip! Overall, Bedrock was a pretty enjoyable experience for the both of us. Parking in Taipan is insane during lunch hours so if you’re planning to check them out, you should be there around 11.40am to avoid the congestion.

Bedrock is a kinda new restaurant café that located at 1st floor in Subang Jaya. To be honest I wouldn’t notice the shop if I wasn’t using google map to locate it. It has a new and quiet ambience, looks modern but simple, which is a good environment for me! The menu is special as well, such as Bedrock’s Shakshouka(its signature claypot baked egg), claypot Kimchi rice, pesto spaghetti etc. Well I know not all can accept a pesto taste but my friends tried it and yeah, it’s nice! Its Shakshouka is anther must try thing here, although the eggs we ordered were overcooked, and there was a tiny eggshell on its surface, but the staff was very helpful and even offered to replace a new dish for us. Besides, the coffee tasted nice, but I forgot to ask what bean they used… perhaps next time. The decoration of foods were prominent and neat as well with special utensils. The only problem is that… it is sooo difficult to get a parking… but no doubt it is a good place to hang out and have a small chat with friends! Or may be move your laptop here?
