Came here for lunch after a 4 hours morning class. Heard this place famous and no wonder it is. Polite and friendly staff, good atmosphere. Ordered their ‘The Cousin’ drink and breakfast menus. Breakfast menus won’t go wrong, hence it was good. But The Cousin drink is a bit sweeeeet for me BUT the brownie with chocolate peanut butter is heaven will definitely drop by again in a few weeks time, need to be careful with my spending at this place too.

Here for my birthday dinner and one funny thing happened — the waiter ruined the surprise which my friends wanted to create for me. She led me to right where my friends were hiding, so that’s how my night started! Overall, it was good dining experience at Garage 51. They have really friendly waiter that will patiently explain to you what’s on their menu. Also, they currently have this messed up family milkshake series, which is apparently something trendy in Aussie — finally brought to Malaysia. We tried the son, of the family, which was A-OK. I wouldn’t order it on my own the next time though, unless someone is sharing it with me. It is photogenic, but to finish it on your own you have to really like sweet stuff, it is plain sweet! But again, who doesn’t like peanut butter in chocolate milkshake? Come on. In my opinion, their food were slightly small in portion, which I think for guys their food portion might not be enough. Taste wise, it’s quite okay — nothing much to boast though. Another funny thing that happened that night was that my friend set me up for a task, which I had to ask for something on the menu for free from the manager. I of course thought that they have talked to the manager beforehand, so I braved myself to complete the mentioned ‘task’. Apparently they did not talk to them at all, but Garage 51 was kind enough to say yes to my relentless request! Would love to go back as the space is pretty cozy!

Really should try the coffee cubes if you are into coffee. Food is very good! There is a very rugged feel to this place. As it’s name would suggest, it is decorated in a very garage style. Plenty of opportunities for photos. The place is really cool. The food is great but a little pricey. Quite a busy place and it is also hard to find a place to park.

There are many seats in the café so you don’t have to be worried, the only thing is that it could be difficult to get a parking space. As for the coffee I ordered Latte and it cost RM10, the atmosphere is fine, suitable for business meeting, talking to friends, but it’s not worth going there to have your meal.

One of the places to have a flat white coffee. Parking around there can be quite difficult due to many workshops and students. Food is also quite tasty but prices are a little on the high side.

At first when I heard of Garage 51 which just opened at the Sunway Industrial area a few years ago, I didn’t thought it was a café/restaurant because their name doesn’t sound like a café/restaurant and it was located at one of the most famous areas where high performance auto workshops are situated. Therefore, I went to Garage 51 just to be sure, Garage 51 is located along one of the factory shoplots which is facing Sunway University College. Before I get into the details of the café, let’s talk about the availability of parking spaces here. It is generally quite hard to get parking at this area due to the university and a lot of commercial businesses here which takes up most of the available parking, so be mentally prepared before heading over. Garage 51 has a quite a good interior design which is inline to their name, it has a bold garage feel to it especially with their raw and minimalistic furnishings. I liked their coffees as it is very similar in taste to their sister company, Coffee Société in Publika. However, I noticed that their food portions are a little small in proportion to their prices(they can definitely improve in this area). Other than that, generally this is a great place to hangout and I will definitely visit this café again.

One of my favorite cafés around this area! Being it near Sunway University, plenty of students visit this café and it gets very very packed during lunch hours. Garage 51 stands firm with its name and the layout of the café does look similarly like a Garage. The café has two stories so there are many seats. Prices for food and drinks here can be quite pricey but they offer daily set meals with a fixed price(RM10+ for food+drink). This is a really great offer especially to the students who study nearby and are trying to save some extra money. One of my favorite things here is the mochatella that is a drink with milk, coffee ice cubes and nutella and it’s the greatest combination ever! I think it was around RM16, a little bit pricey but it was so good! Parking here can be very hard to find because there are many students studying around this area. But this café is definitely one of the best cafés I’ve tried so far!

Garage 51 is actually the sister company of Coffee Societe. That’s also one of the reason I pay them a visit. I’m not a professional coffee drinker, but I’m always a fan of Coffee Societe’s latte. They are smooth to my liking. Hence, I purposely come here to try their coffee out. The taste of the coffee is obviously identical to Coffee Societe, which I like. What’s special about this place is its decoration. They are situated in an industrial area full of garage and the café’s interior is garage inspired with a big container at the back of the shop. The container is actually their kitchen. For exterior, the side of the shop are nicely painted with graffiti. I’ve came here a few times and even tried their breakfast menu. I find that their portion is a little too small for the price their charging. Not a fan of their breakfast but I wouldn’t mind coming back for their coffee though. One thing about this place is, it’s difficult to get a parking spot! Even on a weekend. Hence, patience is much needed.

Located in Bandar Sunway, Garage 51 offers very limited in their menu, with only a few selections available for lunch, and separately few others for dinner. Do keep in mind that their kitchen is closed between 4 – 6 pm. I suppose with the capacity of the crowd, the selection currently meets the demand by the majority. One of the specials there is the Awesome Garage Breakfast, which is basically diced mushroom, homemade hash potatoes, smoked salmon with free range poached eggs. My brother took that and from what he claims, it’s kinda tastes good. Like your average American diner-inspired breakfast. However, he did say that the portion is a little too small. I had their bagel, originally salmon and avocado but I swapped mine for just vegetables. Their bagel was kinda hard in texture, not crispy nor fluffy. The only thing I liked about it is the salad that was served with it. Really hope that this place improves on the food. I do se a whole lot of potential here, as the ambience is very cozy and awesome for late night drinks and joyous brunches with loved ones.

It’s a really hot day today, and looking for a cool place to hangout around Sunway College area is a chore. After finally finding a spot to double park, Garage 51 was the nearest to where our car was. Mind you it’s really hot out, slightly tinted windows with a cold breeze of the air conditioning is pure bliss. The décor doesn’t look too shabby and it quite befits the hipster trends today. We decided on the set lunch grilled chicken w couscous salad & brown sauce + lemonade. For the price of RM10 in this area I’d say it’s a steal. The food however is just palatable nothing wowed me much. If I’m back this way I might try another set lunch. Set lunch times 11am-2.30pm.

Another typical café which located beside New Sunway University building that specifically to attract college and university students with it’s cozy environment as well as unique design that’s suitable for youngsters to chill in there with a cup of latte while studying. Honestly I felt really comfortable in there despite I personally thinks that their food price is reasonable than drinks like coffee and tea. Thus I hardly order any drinks. They do have set lunch that is recommended if you find it hard to choose what to order. Since most of the café serves desserts, Garage 51 do have various desserts for you to choose from, because who doesn’t love desserts? Overall it’s still not bad.

Located in the workshop area behind Sunway University Garage 51 is another one of a string of cafes popping up in that area due to the number of university students nearby. I visited the place back when it just opened as most of the students in the area used to mention the place. I must say I wasn’t too impressed. Firstly they could do with brushing up on the cleanliness of the place as the tables had stains on them from the previous customers who were sitting there. I had the Awesome Garage Breakfast and it was actually not bad. The portion was a bit small though for its RM19 price tag but I guess the smoked salmon made up for that. Overall the place was average, nothing really to shout about.

No, this is not a garage. This is actually a café. People keep talking about this café and that’s the reason why I’m being here. The environment is just like any other cafes. Cold, calm, cozy and makes you feels like home. Nothing much but I was really fascinated with the red beetle just in front of the café’s entrance. Looking hips and stylo there. The coffee was good. Strong aroma and tasty. Same goes to the poached eggs. Some poeple loves this place, some people don’t. As for me, I’d rather stick in the middle.

Located among factories in Sunway, you can imagine my surprise to see a western restaurant so nicely done up and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful when taking our orders. Garage 51 has a good concept, but however, the food didn’t live up to my expectations as the eggs were cold and the other foods were just average.

Hmm, I have mixed feelings with this hipster coffee place. As far as I know, Garage 51 is more of a sister café to Coffee Societe. What’s more exciting is that I prefer Coffee Societe compared to here. One of the reasons is due to the distance from my place in Ampang. Since Garage 51 is situated in Sunway, it is quite tedious to drive all the way here to enjoy a cup of coffee and indulge in some cakes but I did all thanks to my good friend who is now a Subang«kaki». It wasn’t difficult to find Garage 51, but this place is pretty secluded and unsafe especially for those who wish to drive here alone. Finding an empty parking space here is horrendous and unheard of. My friends and I had to make a few rounds in order to secure a parking which was near a big drain. I don’t know about you but I feel that Garage 51 should relocate to a better area. Despite all the undesirable comments regarding this coffee joint, I do have some good ones. As I’ve mentioned earlier, I have mixed feelings of love and dislike. During the 1st visit, I ordered mocha and it tasted good! I ordered the red velvet cake as well but it was sold out(my friend said that it is really good). During the 2nd visit, I ordered mocha again(I was disappointed coz’ it was too bland and there’s no coffee aroma). This time I ordered red velvet cake and wahhhlaaaaaa my friend was right! The red velvet cake was so good; my friends and I had our 2nd helping. Garage 51 is not too bad; they just need to improve on their coffee and food(small portion and expensive).

I tried this place when it just opened. I don’t want to sound cruel but I indeed to not feel like going back to the place again. As coffee outlets are aplenty nowadays, cafes are competing with each other to serve better coffees. The aroma of the coffee was rather moderate and wasn’t as fragrant as I expected it to be. On the body of the coffee though, I would say it’s tad a bit thin. Well I only ordered one meal and that’s the sourdough and smoked salmon sandwich. The filling taste great with the perfect bend of tangy tasting cream and smoked salmon, however the sourdough seems like it came from the Egyptian era, hard as rock and icky. Well… they could improve on their food quality and also coffee. Maybe that time I went they were just starting and they weren’t able to cope with the crowd? Ah well, I doubt that I would be interested to visit another time.

I was nothing short of disappointed when I checked out Garage 51. It was very overpriced for food that just did not taste like much. I had this dish called Maria Parloa which was basically smoked salmon, a poached egg, potato rosti and hollandaise sauce. The potato rosti was quite hard rather than crispy while the hollandaise sauce was quite diluted. I also ordered their specialty drink; coffee ice cubes, nutella and milk. It was quite tasty but not worth RM15. My friends were just as unsatisfied with their food. All in all, I ended up spending about 30 bucks for a meal that was far far far from satisfying. Also, parking there is a nightmare and I would not know the best time to go there because this area always seems to be a nightmare when it comes to parking.

Garage turned café. Garage 51 is brought to you by the people behind the award winning Coffee Société in Publika. The establishment is decorated with a minimalistic approach. Lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling and exposed air-conditioning vents compliment the high ceiling. They even have a big metal container in the café. The société blend is used here. Their coffee is as good as their original branch. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try their food. But by the looks of it their menu is made for brunching. Parking in the area is scarce, I’d recommend visiting during off peak periods and after school hours.
