In Dec. last year, I was invited to attend a Christmas dinner that was jointly organised by Carlsberg and the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce(MICCI). When I saw the invitation, immediately I RSVP-ed to confirm my attendance. Hey, not everybody is given the opportunity to enter the brewery without an invitation!(^_^) It was an amazing experience. The beers were free flow and there was a local distributor offering free Spanish wine tasting. There were at least eight types of beer being served — Somersby Apple Cider, Carlsberg Light, Carlsberg Gold, Asahi, Kronenbourg and others that I didn’t taste. Hurray! A haven for alcohol lovers. We were also taken on an educational tour of Carlsberg Brewery by their Supply Chain Manager, who is a Frenchman named David. He has been working with the company for 15 years. It was fun looking through the flowchart of Carlsberg’s brewing process and learning about its more than 100 years history. Carlsberg was founded by JC Jacobsen in 1847 in Denmark. If you are keen to visit Carlsberg Brewery, you may consider becoming a member of MICCI by paying an annual fee(MICCI usually organises its networking event once a year at Carlsberg) or try to establish friendship with one of the Carlsberg employees. Either way, unlimited flow of beer is guaranteed. Let us cheers to that, mate!
